course just changed hands. ; old owner let it get run down; hopefully new owners invests
in course conditions. Nice footprint for a par 28 course and alternative golf experience at a reasonable cost to play b
Great little course
Truely enjoyed playing the course. It is my understanding that the course has recently been purchased and new owners are putting in the effort and money to make it better. I believe from my visit, that is happening. Great and friendly staff. Play it, and you will have a good time!
Potential is There
Played OC for first time with spouse on a Thursday afternoon. Nice welcoming staff, new carts as noted in other reviews, nothing over the top fact, just a feel good checkin. Course needs a lot of work as the staff advised, new owners took over only a few months ago working on getting it back in shape. No rain in months hasn’t helped the conditions, and the irrigation system is under repair so it’s left to nature. Tee boxes and fairways brown and greens choppy but again give them time and it’ll be a fun little course to work on your game and enjoy good company for 3 hours. 9 holes for $35 with cart was more than fair to get us out there. We’ll be back in a month or two to see how it’s doing (hopefully get some rain or irrigation system working). Wishing the new owners the best in bringing the local area a decent course to have some fun!
Very dry out. Grass was completely depleted of anything green.
The Future
I met the new owner. He and his wife have an up hill climb, but with some money and perseverance, they will have a nice little golf course.
Ok for money.
Course was very dry, fairways were cut short & very dry. Greens needed watering and bumpy.
New Owners and Management Improvements
Improvements noted at every location. Merchandise now exists in the clubhouse. Upgraded golf carts. Greens are filling in nicely as putts behave closer to as expected. Layout has always been excellent in that all your clubs are needed even though it's an executive course. Staff is friendly, accommodating and professional. Thanks for an enjoyable round of golf.
Best Golf Course in Englewood, Florida
Oyster Creek Golf Club in Englewood Florida is an absolute must play and easily one of the best golf experiences on the Gulf Coast. From the moment you arrive you can feel the positive energy and pride flowing through the entire property under the new ownership.
The golf carts are top notch and truly elevate the round. They are clean modern comfortable and well maintained making it easy to relax and enjoy every hole. It is a small detail that makes a big difference and shows how much care is going into the overall experience.
The course conditions are outstanding. The fairways are lush the greens are smooth and true and the entire layout is manicured beautifully. Every hole feels thoughtfully maintained and challenging in all the right ways while still being enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
The new owners have clearly made Oyster Creek a priority and it shows everywhere you look. From customer service to course presentation this club is headed in an exciting direction. If you are looking for a memorable round of golf in Englewood Florida Oyster Creek Golf Club delivers on every level. Highly recommended and I cannot wait to play it again.
Disappointed
I heard alot about the course so I thought that I would try it out. I heard that it was under new management so I understand that there is a learning curve.. It took almost 4 hours to play this executive course. The 4 some ahead of our 2 some was playing a scramble format and they were painfully slow. We waited on every shot, and when they got to the green they took forever to putt out. I did not see handicap flags on the carts, and they would pull up right beside the green. I mentioned this to the starter marshal when he went by but he did not address the situation. The tee boxes were awful and the greens were below average and the bunkers were also awful. The carts were excellen. I enjoyed the player that I was paired up with. We both agreed that there is much work needed to improve things.
Fun little track - needs tlc
This was my 2nd full run on this track(1st attempt got cut short after hole 3 due to work stuff). Its a short course so its expected to have a lot of par 3s. Really great for trying to dial in 7i-gw. The owner is super friendly. Brand new carts which is sweet. The greens are the selling point on this course currently. With some time and tlc, I feel the rest, especially tee boxes, can make this a really great track. The entire inside of clubhouse got a major overhaul. I certainly hope this course gets busy enough to keep the upgrades going. Because of the value, I drove an hour from cape coral to play it because even with the drive, I can get 18 in and home in nearly the same amount of time as my regular courses.
Travis owner
Travis a very likable friendly polite person . Greeted and carried my golf bag and put it in his new cat that had just been recently delivered. Hiked in with Rylie and we had very nice chat. After the round I had a beverage and on my way out the cart boy asked if I enjoyed my round with the new carts and I replied great golf cart and great round!!!
