Blue/Red at Myakka Pines Golf Club

I have played this course before while visiting family. I have enjoyed it every time. I especially like the setting, with the wild peaceful feel and the animals. That seems to be changing now, with the area around the course being under development. I was sad to see that. My wife was with me today. She was on the putting green before our round when she was approached by a gentleman who very politely told her that her shirt was unacceptable because it did not have a collar. It was a top she had worn at many golf courses for the past 2 years since she started playing the game. It was sleeveless, but had the same design and shape as the ladies tops sold in the pro shop. In my opinion, it was not inappropriate in any way. It was not a “tank top”. There was, however, a notice on the front door about the dress code which stated that women’s tops must have a collar. My wife was compelled to buy a new top so that our day would not be ruined. The man who approached my wife was polite and respectful, but it was obvious that he was told to do this by someone higher up. I feel very offended that my wife was treated this way. We have played at golf courses in 9 different states and my wife’s golf attire has never been an issue. If we had known about this rule before we arrived, we would have been prepared. We did enjoy our day in spite of the unnecessary embarrassment and additional expense. The person who made that man tell my wife she could not play golf in the clothing she came in should be ashamed of themself. My wife is a beautiful, classy woman who does not wear immodest or inappropriate clothing.

Good value compared to Rotunda courses. Much better condition.

This course is in very good shape. They invested a lot and the best I've seen it.

Had a really nice time today! I got to the course early and they offered free balls on the driving range. I got paired up with a couple of guys from New York. They were a good fit for me and we had a good time. The course was in fantastic shape. The greens were fast. I will definitely be back.

Course in very good shape, tee boxes have been renovated. Greens were fast. Staff was very friendly. We will for sure come back.

Been coming to this course for years when we travel south. Far and away it's in the best condition of any point in the last twenty years.

Carts are clean, Bag Guys are very friendly.

The course is challenging depending on your tee choice, Water comes into play a lot!

Lots of wildlife especially Large Alligators.

The course is in great shape, greens are very fast, maybe due to the drought conditions in Florida

Myakka Pines is a great course for golfers who like to play a course without homes lining the fairways, just enough of a test to make you play some golf shots. Five sets of tee’s, nice practice facilities with driving range, large putting green, chipping area with sand traps and green. Carts are nice with GPS, and all is included in the green fees. Also great pro shop and restaurant but must of all the staff is fantastic from the guys at the bag drop to the people in the pro shop and restaurant. The course is fair. The number 1 ranked hole on each 9 is challenging. Vey good greens

Not playing the course for two years I found that the course has upgraded a great deal and is a pleasure to play.

3+ hours to complete 12 holes. Play was so slow, we called it after 12 holes completed.

When driving back to clubhouse, we discovered a 2-some that was holding everyone up. They were teeing off on #15, and there were no players on #15, #16, #17 and #18.

When we told the staff, they just shrugged and said there is nothing they could do to speed up play.

Will not return...

Good course that has 27 holes. I played the blue and red nines. Pace of play seemed slower than I was hoping as I was a single but I think it was still within 4 hours. Staff I encountered were nice.

I played the white and blue courses. They have an additional red course as well. Given the drought in Southwest FL the course and greens were in great shape. A very fair layout with beautiful wildlife everywhere on the course. The staff was very friendly. The GN price deal was fantastic. I’d recommend a drink and something to eat after your round. Prices were great.

Play as a single today. And I was paired up with another single. So far no problem. The issue I have is we were forced to ride in the same cart together. I don't know this person and he does not know me and suddenly we are shoulder to shoulder for 4 1/2 hours. This is the most ridiculous rule I've ever seen. I may understand it more on the weekend when carts are needed but definitely not on a Tuesday at 10 o'clock in the morning. I have been a single at many other courses and have never been placed in somebody else's cart. Shame on you Myakka Pines.

Friendly staff, good course conditions, except that the lakes were low on water. I would return.
