Willow Creek Golf & Country Club
About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Golfer Reviews
NO ONE MOVES
THE COURSE WAS GOOD, BUT AFTER 9 HOLES AND 2&1/2 HOURS I WALKED OFF. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK A 5 HOUR ROUND IS NORMAL?
Awesome! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Willow Creek Golf & Country Club.

Always a slow round
Yesterday was a reminder of why I avoid this course. We finished 9 in 2 hours 45 and our full 18 in 5 hours 40 minutes. Waited at every single tee box with a group in front of us still waiting to tee off. It’s a real shame because the course can be a fun track to play but the course is just really poorly managed that playing has become unbearable. The starter was just sitting in his hut not caring about who teed off and at what time so we teed off 10 minutes late and there are no rangers out keeping groups on pace. I would suggest golfing quite literally anywhere else.
Thank you for your review! We apologize that you didn't enjoy your round with us. We strive to provide all our guests with a great golf experience, so we appreciate your feedback. We understand the importance of pace of play and will continue to improve our focus on pace. Thank you again and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.

The course is great for experienced golfers.
Wonderful looking place, was very happy with the grounds, some spots could use tough ups but nothing to throw one’s game off. Very difficult course with plenty of bunkers, water and difficult greens. I would love to play here again when I improve my game. Only complaint is the price for a golf cart. $26 per person is very steep especially when you don’t even get a cart to yourself.

I love this place
My favorite course. Not my home course(Bethpage) but my favorite course. Course is usually in good conditions, pace of play was good today. Forget about it if it’s a weekend. Atleast a 5 hr round. Had a Foursome ahead of us that was a little on the slower side but they we’re seniors so no big deal. Still finished in a little over 4 hours. I always recommend this place to my friends and will continue to do so bc they didn’t ridiculously jack up their prices during Covid like other places did. Friendly staff and beautiful place.

Willow Creek Golf
Clubhouse staff was unfriendly.
There were no carts available 10 minutes prior to tee time.
They were charging $10 extra for a single cart which with Covid is outrageous.
Pace of play was painful, 2 hours 10 minutes for the front 9, 3 hours front the back nine.
For $76 when last year we could play in the afternoon for $50 I found this to be overpriced, love the course and the layout but not for $76!
To spend over 5 hours on a golf course is not worth my time.
Thank you for your review! We apologize that our staff didn't leave a great impression on you and that the pace of play was slow. Covid19 mandates are continually evolving in regards to golf cart usage. The prepaid GolfNow rates are to cover the green fee portion only as the Club could not guarantee carts for all players. If a cart was available, the player could pay the additional cart fee upon arrival. At one point, the Club was walking only. Restrictions were then lifted and carts were allowed for single riders only. Further restrictions were lifted allowing two riders to a cart -- at this time, an extra $10 surcharge was charged to riders requesting to ride alone, unless they had an underlying health condition. Players taking individual carts was causing a shortage of carts for players. The Club asks that all players be patient as we continue to manage through these unprecedented times and ever-changing times. Golf cart dividers are now available to allow for players riding together that do not live in the same household. Thanks again and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Rude.
Sunday afternoon pro shop guy needs to learn some customer service skills. ASAP!
Thank you for your review! We see you rated the course 1-star. We take single star feedback very seriously at our course. We always appreciate the feedback. Please reach out to our team in the golf shop. Thank you for playing Willow Creek Golf & Country Club.
Shocked
Waited on every hole. No Ranger to move things along. Radio/music playing should be prohibited! Group behind us pulled up to the tee with loud music while we were teeing off several times. Staff should have disbursed the large group of golfers who finished before us from hanging out behind 18 green-drinking and very loud. Fairways and tee boxes are getting chewed up. Greens filled with divot marks! Don’t let this place slide further into mediocrity!
Thank you for your review! We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

Nice greens, nice layout but pricey
Willow Creek is a nice track. Lots of traps and water hazards. Looks like it gets a lot of play, chunked up tees and scuffed up greens. The rough is not too punishing. We caught up to a group that needed a little prodding and the group in front of them seemed out of control, no ranger?

Great course- will def play again
Played 18 in 4 hours and 10 minutes, on a Sunday morning. That’s about as good as it gets for Long Island public golf.
Course was in great shape, and the lay out is a lot of fun. Some interesting approach shots, due to water and sand, but very playable.
My only gripe is I purchased a “Prepaid Walker” tee time and was told when I got there that walking was not permitted before 11:00. Not a huge deal, but definitely misleading and it added another $25 to the round. Make sure to verify this if you expect to walk.
