About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Great course

Where is the RANGER? Pace of Play is horrible
As usual there was NO RANGER on this course. I watched as players destroyed the course making divots and drove their carts in out of bounds areas. Several players stuck homes with their golf balls. I live on this course and the MANAGER obviously only cares about the quarterly report to the Board of Directors and not about the pace of play and certainly does not care about the residents in this community.

Willow Creek advises players through various media on the importance of pace of play, errant golf shot, and course care. Signage in each golf cart and on the golf course serve as friendly reminders, as well as a weekly email blast. Our club asks all players to listen to the starter as he reviews the proper etiquette for the enjoyment and safety of players and the community. Great shape
Nice track lots of water. Need to be a shot maker in order to score. Greens were in excellent condition.

The course is great BUT
their way to expensive for long island golf $92.00 to play ok high but i get it to me it was the additional $36.00 per person to ride thats absurd so thats $72.00 for 1 cart thats

The prepaid GolfNow rates are to cover the green fee portion only as our club could not guarantee carts for all players. If a cart was available, the player could pay the additional cart fee upon arrival. At one point, our club was walking only. Restrictions were then lifted and carts were allowed for single riders only. Further restrictions were lifted allowing two riders to a cart -- at this time, an extra $10 surcharge was charged to riders requesting to ride alone, unless they had an underlying health condition. Players taking individual carts was causing a shortage of carts for players. We ask that all players be patient as we continue to manage through these unprecedented times and ever-changing times. Golf cart dividers are now available to allow for players riding together that do not live in the same household. Thank you again and we hope to have you back soon!
Disappointing decline
This used to be the best public course and I have only played once there this year but there was a clear mismanagement coming from the top. The course itself was fantastic but when paying top dollar to play on this course you expect more. I went to the range before my round and it was completely amess. They were using kids sand castle buckets that were all different colors. There was 3 or 4 buckets to each stall. The lines to tell you where to hit was more like spaghetti then a straight line, so much so as when another rookie golfer come he had no idea where to hit and I had to inform him as such. You dont mind when paying a few dollars to play but when spending what they ask you really dont want to see that. And at this time it had been slow for a few hours with plenty on staff at the time. There was garbage on every hole, literally! The outside personnel was very friendly and they were all extremely young with nobody inside or outside over the age of 25, so I don't really blame them as most likely it was a training issue as to the conditions. For me, I dont think I'll be back til next year after they do their usual house cleaning and fire or transfer management. The club corp that owns this course has really done harm to this beautiful course. However there was alot of baby ducks around and that was awesome to see

Greens
Great layout, impeccable condition, but the greens are just a little too hokey for my liking. It’s one thing to undulate, it’s another to be so over the top, even real good shots aren’t rewarded...

Loved everything about this course is definitely the best public golf course on Long Island greens immaculate been playing here for years the fact that they don’t let you walk before 11 on weekends is enough to get me to start going elsewhere sad because it’s my favorite but I love to walk and am good enough to where I never hold anyone up so I don’t understand

bad manners
when i made reservation i was informed walking only.
the rate to play was a little high but i chose to accept the terms.
when i arrived i was informed that each member of our group would have to cough up an additional $26 dollars because now their enforcing a cart only policy.
we then had to regroup from the first tee with our pull carts go back to cars and rush to tee and immediately begin the round in a rush.
the course is terrific, i dont believe they honored their commitment to my group.

Fantastic course that made you feel like you were at a resort
The course was in great shape. I he king in was a breeze and the staff were all friendly. They treated us like we were on a private Membership course . The layout was challenging with almost too many sand bunkers but as we played we realized a consistent shot took most of them out of play. The course itself plays much longer then what the actual yardage so don’t be fooled and jump for a longer tee position. It takes consistent tee shots not only with a driver but many times using a 3 wood or hybrid for positioning for the second shot. No worries though as you check in the staff gives you an accurate yardage that was well put to use.

What a great course. Immaculate conditions and layout! Went out with a 4 some, kept good pace along with all other groups we saw. Will definitely be retiring.

Willow Creek had the feel of a real challenging golf course
What a brilliant course for the money. The staff was knowledgeable friendly and very accommodating. This was the first time I played willow creek and I am looking forward to my next time. The only thing I would do differently would be to ride instead of walk. It was a workout but the scenery was spectacular. I am sorry I didn’t get any pictures but I also wish I hit a few more fairways LOL.
