About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Interesting
Interesting day. I'm not sure what my expectations were for an early March round, but when comparing to other reviews from just this past week, my experience was very different. First, there were no tee box markers whatsoever on any hole. Didn't much matter as we picked a spot on each hole where we thought they might be, but I did find that odd for a $55 round. I saw a review that said the greens were slow, which was not the case - the greens were very fast, which I enjoy. I saw another review from very recent where they said they enjoyed the snacks at the hut at the turn. It was closed yesterday and also included a "closed for the season" sign on the restrooms...? Perhaps only open on weekends maybe...? Overall a good day, the course layout is challenging, lots of sand and some blind shots - course familiarity would be very helpful.

Good early season conditions
Good early season conditions. The only thing the couse needs is rakes in the bunker that was a little bit of a bummer. But its early I get it. All in all good day good course. I will be back.

Great Feb round
One of my favorite courses. Check in effortless but first tee backed up onto development entrance. Could have used a starter. Many traps without rakes and no tee markers. No tee markers was surprising. Having shared that I love the course. Round proceeded smoothly and enjoyed this Feb day. Course really makes you think in a strategically.

Fast green
45 degrees. Not many on course. No leaves and green in excellent conditions.

Winter golf
Course played well for a January in NY. Greens putted well and fairways were in good shape. A day outside in January in the fresh air is always good!

Fun fun fun!
This course is a ton of fun. Lots of bunkers, lots of water. the greens and fairways were in great shape, especially for December and the recent wet weather. Pro shop staff are friendly and very helpful. I can't wait to go back to play in the spring.

Fun fun fun
Great course
Really enjoyable
Lots of sand and water and a lot of undulation on the greens
Cant wait to play it in the spring /summer when the greens are faster
Every hole was visually stunning and made you think about where to place your ball

First time playing this course and first review ever.
What a great course. Reminded me of the links style tracks down in Myrtle Beach. Pretty slick lay-out ,with tons of bunkers and water. Pace of play under 4 hours and each hole had some individual character.
Bill in the Pro shop was extremely helpful and accommodating.. My late November green fee of 40 bucks was more than a fair price.

Excellent course conditions for mid-November. Fairways were aerated about a month ago and had not fully recovered. Greens were smooth and relatively fast, but with many unfixed ball marks.
