San Carlos Golf Club

On vacation in the area and enjoyed my second round here, complementary water and ice available at three locations. A little slow this time due to a large group in front but definitely enjoyed the round. Course is in excellent condition.

played with a single that had his 6 year old son that he was visiting. the day after his birthday and his grandfather (who lives on the 4th hole ) bought him a starter set of clubs. he road with us until the 4th hole, hit maybe 4 shots, and putted a few and the club still charged him a full greens fee. absurd. it wasnt as if the 6 year old was a 4th member of the group. there were three of us total for 14 holes. we waited numerous times on the group ahead of us because the group ahead of them were at least 45 minutes behind a normal pace of play for this time of year. no reason what so ever to charge for a six year old to ride with his dad. for 3.5 holes.

pretty horrible experience showed up on time they had no carts available. Made me wait 40 minutes for a cart. The bar girl put a 50% tip automatically on a beer finally got a cart 40 minutes late then they tried to take my cart away to put me on with someone else after waiting then rush through the round did not get to finish this round and ended with no food or drinks available

course is in excellent condition and provided water and ice on a hot day

Course is overbooked, but it’s a great play for the money.

Fun day at San Carlos.

Very professional staff all the way around. The starter was very helpful in keeping play moving off the first tee. Pace of play was suboptimal but I understand this to be somewhat expected at a local course which gets a ton of play. The course was in very nice shape considering the lack of rain.

My only real gripe is the tee placements. Holes 4-7 are ridiculously long from the white tees. This certainly contributes to the lackluster pace of play
