Very good course, if you score the right price.
Booked tee time for $27.00 per person which was well worth it. The course was in good order, the pace was a bit slow but no one riding up on us throughout which was nice. Plays pretty open for being in a development. Minus the 45-50' drive there, it was a real steal for the price. If I were closer to that area, I would definitely frequent BV more.
lives up to the name
Bella Vista is a beautifuly spread out design. Its one of my favorite courses in PA. Well cared for and challenging, this course can test even the more skilled golfers. I love it and recommend it highly.
Great course for price
Great shape, good price only thing was slow pace of play.
Great layout and conditions plus very well marked with yardages
One of the best courses in Eastern Pa, for conditions and value.
late round delays
Perhaps the late tee time was a mistake but a foursome with decent pace should be able to finish before a late summer day/evening. We played 17 holes at a good pace but wwete forced to stop due to several groups vying to finish the par 3 18th. The course was very green, maybe two poorly kept tee boxes of the lot we played. As for my expectations for a course open to the public, only a few come to mind. I certainly plan to not only play these links again but will spread the word to friends. My most serious reason I would consider not returning is due to the poor bar tending at the turn..
Great deal
Played on a perfect Saturday afternoon with some friends. Course is always well maintained and staff is friendly. We will certainly be playing there again.
Good course for the money
Some funky tee shots for a first time player, but a great course for the money. Will be back again.
Great layout, interesting greens to read
This course was in great shape. Everything was was as it should be. The greens were just challenging enough and most fairways were were impeccable. Some long Par 5's and challenging Par 3's. give this place a try and you won't be disappointed. When your done, stop in the Pub for a great chicken sandwich and cold beer. Very moderately priced as well.
good and challenging layout for the average golfer
Well maintained public course with some attention needed to tee boxes
Course is very playable and forgiving on off line drives.
Arrived a little late but they were accommodating and paired me with another two some. Players tend to be nice. Course is well maintained. For most part course is opened and forgiving on bad drives. Fairly challenging. Excellent burgers at the turn.
Bella Vista is a Gem
Great day at Bella Vista. Pulled up and the staff took care of the clubs and got me set up for my 10:21 tee time. Easy check in at the golf shop and the use of the Golfnow printed voucher. Played the first nine very well and had a great apreciation of the greens and fairways. Staff has done a great job in maintaining the course. Back nine got away from me a little, but still the same pristine condition on the course itself. Had a host of different lies and all proved to be challenging. I will certainly be back to play this year. Great time.
Nice greens
Nice course! Some holes are somewhat on top of each other. I don't think the course is tough as its rating. The greens are always beautiful!! One of courses that I play several times a year.
Nice Track
I play bella vista frequently. It's pretty open with the exception of a few holes, not too penalizing if you're not driving it straight. Greens are ususally in good shape and pace of play is rarely an issue (my group usually plays before 8, there are usually 1 or 2 rangers monitoring pace of play). Would defnitely recommend..... also suggest grabbing a bite to eat and beer post round, the markely grill has very good food.
Excellent value
Course in great shape with interesting layout and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Great values, especially with golf now discount.
This is a well-maintaned and well-designed course and goes for one of the best values in the area.
This has to be one of my favorite courses in the area. It is a great value and you get a lot for what you pay. Gets you to think a bit and plan out your shots ahead of time. Almost always in great condition, usually has some of the smoothest and most well-manicured greens in the area for a public course. Well worth your time to check it out.
Course Knowledge Helps
This is a very well kept course. Course knowledge would help. Consider a yardage book if its your first time. The island green is pretty generous. The 18th (a par 3) is a visually strange hole, but fun. Overall I enjoyed the course. If it were closer, I would play it more.
Wouldn't pay full price
Looked like greens had been spiked recently but the real problem was the ball marks on the green. Had to repair 2-3 ball marks in my line on nearly every green and they were VERY slow. Pin placements were borderline unfair and it made scoring nearly impossible. Could be a real nice track if they took better care of the greens.
This coarse is very well maintained
Coarse is really nice. Playing from the whites or tips is fun and challenging. Greens were nice and sold and bunkers well kept. Only thing for me that is disappointing is the drive. Little more then an hour away, but is well worth the drive. Ill be back.
