Plenty of room to air a few out
This course isn't exceptionally difficult as there's a lot of room to miss with your tee shots. I was a bit surprised that after all the rain we had this summer that the rough was showing a lot of signs of burnout. Tees, fairways and greens were in great condition. I found a few unrepaired ball marks on every green. Can't understand why people can't fix ball marks. Even if you can't find your own, just fix 2 others!
I enjoyed the course but there wasn't anything that "wowed" me about it. Pace of play was 1:50 on the front and got held up on the back but still finished in under 4:15.
Nice layout, trouble areas relatively easy to avoid
I played an afternoon round (3pm) and was done before 7pm. The greens were a little slow and bumpy, but that was to be expected with the recent rains.
There was a few spots on the fairways which did not drain well, and the fairways were very soft.
All in all, a great place to play. The grille afterwards have some friendly folks and good food.
Always in great shape!
I'd like the greens to be a little faster but they roll very true so very little to complain about. Fairways are always maintained. A few divot marks around landing and feeding areas. Tee boxes are immaculate! Everyone is flat and placed in nice spots! Love this course!
The course is super and beautiful
The condition of the course is super, and the course is beautiful especially the island Par 3. We enjoyed the time here and recommend it even it's relative short.
Great course lots of fun
What a great public course! I really enjoy playing this course every time I play it. Nice open course to bust out the driver on most holes. Absolutely beautiful course with lots of landscape changes. Of course the best par 3 in the area on the #14 hole, the best!
This course is a great value.
I usually play Bella Vista 3 to 5 times per yer. It is always in good shape. It has a mix of challenging holes and holes the average golfer can do well on. The island green, par 3 is memorable.
I fould the staff helpful and the pace of play has always been good.
Country Club Feel
Drove an hour to play here because of the reviews I read about it on GolfNow. It was well worth the drive. Multiple tee boxes, yardages everywhere, sprinkler heads, etc. Very nice layout with lots of elevation changes. An overall great golfing experience!!!
Great course for the money. Very enjoyable layout. Keep it in the fairway and you can score well
.Great course for the money. Very enjoyable layout. Keep it in the fairway and you can score well
The course was beautiful and we really enjoy it; however, the pace of play was terribly long. We teed off at 3:03 pm on Saturday and finished at 8:23
5:20 minutes is a long time - in fact the longest that I have ever played in 30 years of golfing - 3:03 tee time was on schedule but finished at 8:23. Great course but something has to be done to keep play on track.
Modern
Bella Vista is a great modern layout and design. It was fairly long from the white tees, generously wide fairways, and large green complexes with some of the best putting surfaces I've played on. The course if very well maintained (including sand bunkers) and has some beautiful views!
great course
enjoyed the variety of holes, topography, conditions were excellent, good drainage, as it has been wet lately, and course was in great shape, 90 degrees when many courses were cartpath only, greens nice, not fast but not slow, my putting was off, but in general I played well, will definitely be back soon
A public course with a country club feel
Beautiful course. Great place to play and worth every penny.
A beautiful place to play
If your looking for a beautiful place to play in the heart of Lancaster county, look no farther. The course is pleasurably difficult, but is very fair to all levels of golfers. I highly recommend this course and would play here every day if time allowed.
Sounds good, the course is located in the Northwestern corner of Montgomery county however, about 30 miles from "The heart of Lancaster county"
Great people. Great conditions. bIG course.
I went out as a walking single. Was paired up w couple in mid-60s riding. We got along great and finished 9 long holes in under 2 hours. That's 2 oldeR golfears and a w.alker. Finished 18 in 3 hrs 50 mins. Included a snack bar stop at the turn. 6400 + from the tips. A par 3 island green. 2 of us parred it. Big fairways. I still missed most of em. Lotta walking but plenty of drinking water available. Starter was very friendly. Pro shop cashier also
I am coming back soon, hopefully when my driver is working so I can hit some fairways. I like the layout. A few too many surrounding houses but you can't have it all. top 5 locally. Honey rook. Broad run. Lederach. Ravens claw. Turtle creek. Pilgrims oak. Why cote. 5 ponds
One of the nicest public courses in the area
The course was in great condition and there was very little waiting to take shots. Houses line many of the holes but they were not really a factor or in jeapardy of being hit through the entire round.
The island green is the big drawing card. It's terraced which shrinks the green down to half size if your'e trying to set up for a 1 or 2 putt so it's a very challenging par.
Short and tight course
Course was in great shape. Greens rolled very true. Not a course for straying off line. Does not require length off the tee. Felt like it lacked some character and price for a Friday noon time was a bit much at $42.
Great layout, big/tough greens
I've played this course many times, and it is typically one of the better maintained courses in the area. On 5/29 half of the rough was super thick and looked like it had just been mowed after a week of growing (lots of clumped, dead mower clippings). The other half of the rough was already looking brown, crispy, and thin. I'm worried what is going to happen to it later in the year since summer hasn't even started yet. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are still in excellent condition though.
Great layout with some interesting holes, and fast/undulating greens make this a fun course to play.
Most challenging public course in Montgomery county.
Always in excellent shape. One of few courses I know that close when too wet.. instead of gouging players.
Wish they would flip the front and back nine. No fun starting on the # handicap hole especially when no driving range. And the 18th would be a better 9th hole.. than the finishing hole in my opinion. #10 is pretty wide open and would be a better place for first drive of the day... Greens are bigger than average but role true.. usually at least a 10... Have to have A game playing here...
