Fun Country Course
Fun because the layout had lush
Oaks, Palms and other beautiful trees
encasing a challenging winding chain of fairways. Country 'cause it's so far away from mainstream big city suburbia Florida that you have to pump daylight to see out there.
The greenskeeper has got to know what he's doing because the greens were really nice. They were fast and in good shape.
But nobody's perfect… fairways were pretty rough. They were covered with close cut St Augustine grass and various weeds. You're not gonna be hitting out of any fluff. And you can forget about the T boxes. No problem with me because I use a T when I drive. All in all, I've gotta tell you it's is a great deal for the money and the people there are friendly.
I loved the old-fashioned redneck grill with that old clubhouse smell of french fries in the hopper and the sound bottles of cold beers clinking too.
Give it a try.
Needs work
Still no grass in the fairways, the tee boxes are terrible
The greens are in good shape but are taking a beating from the people that play there all the time. Nobody repairs ball marks or divots. They had a group playing a scramble that were playing so slow it was ridiculous. For $24 I would play it again just to work on my short game. Any more than that is not worth it.
ROUGH
Course in rough shape. Played in past but course is gone
Cowpoke
Good course for the money..Great cafe...staff was great..fairways a little rough but to be expected this time of year......would play again..
Fun Layout
Great course to work on your game. Conditions have improved vastly from a month or so ago.
it could be
This course could be real cool if it were maintained. The back nine was in 10x better condition than the front. Greens were sand boxes unfortunately and don’t go in the rough. Heck you’ll never find your ball even if is just off the fairway.
Great Value
Good course to work on your game. Tee boxes, fairways and greens showing effects of rough weather recently. Challenging layout on back 9 is enjoyable. With continued TLC the course it will improve greatly. For the (Golf Now) rate it is a great value. Friendly staff and very good food options makes for an enjoyable experience.
Yikes
The course layout is enjoyable, the back 9 is challenging, and the staff is friendly. However, that's the only nice thing I have to say about this course. The course is in terrible shape; the greens are parched brown with cracks, and the grass is so high that you'll lose your ball just a few feet from the fairway. Charging $35 to play 18 holes here is absurd; anything over $15 is pushing it. It could be a really nice course if it were better taken care of and might be okay for twilight golf if you're visiting the area, but it's not worth making the trip if you're looking to try out new courses.
Work In Progress
The course is a work in progress that has great potential to be top notch. Friendly staff and vast menu of food items (before or after your round) makes The Oaks a fun place to play.
Needs Water
We played here a couple months ago and were happy the way the course was progressing. on 4/19/24 we were very disappointed with the fairways and greens. Is $20 a fair price, probably, but it was not a fun course to play this time. Is there no water available here? Fairways were like cement and the greens are going backwards.
It's a fun course when there is grass on it.
