Broadlands Golf Club
About
Broadlands Golf Club in North Prairie is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Milwaukee area and also one of southeastern Wisconsin's best values. With a wide-open, virtually treeless landscape, the course has a traditional links design. It offers plenty of challenges but it is also not overly difficult for high handicappers. Water comes into play on a few holes, mostly on the front nine. Emphasis is placed on proper club selection, especially for the finishing hole, a downhill par 3 with bunkers and native grasses framing the two-tiered green. It is an especially tough hole on a windy day. The golf course is versatile and accommodates a wide range of skill levels. Its playability has made it a popular host for amateur tournaments and outings. Broadlands Golf Club also has a driving range for golfers to use.

Painfully slow front 9, better pace on backside
This course is one of my favorites in the area. The conditions are typically very good and the course is challenging but rewards good shots. I don't normally play here on weekends due to the pace of play and this round reminded me why. The front 9 was packed. We waited several minutes to hit on nearly every shot and it took just short of 3 hours to play the front. Some of the groups must have left after 9 and the back 9 played at a more normal 1 1/2 hour pace thankfully. Our only real complaint, besides the painfully slow front 9, was that more sand than necessary was in the bunkers and this made for more difficult than normal shots from them but that could be some user error also.
slow play
fridays play was very slow play had to wait o almost every hole
Wide open fairways you can score from anywhere
Overall just an exceptional course. Can be windy at times but when the wind is down you can definitely let fly
Hidden Gem
Great open course, gorgeous back nine.
Beautiful Course!!
Course was in great condition...especially for Oct 26! Weather was good. We teed off at 1:30 and flew thru the first 7 holes. But then we caught the earlier tee times. Came to a screeching halt! We opted to replay the front nine and pretty much had it to ourselves. All in all, it was a great day on a beautiful course!!
Well Constructed Course
Nice conditions, enough hazards to keep it challenging.
In poor taste
Soccer Golf is the ruin of golf as we know it. I implore Golf Now to include some type of booking icon to warn users that soccer golf will be played simultaneous to your round on your hole(s). Prior to this my experience with Golf Now was exemplary. How can any avid golf rate this golf-hybrid above zero?

Played Early
We teed off at 6:15am, grounds crew cutting the greens got ahead of us after a few holes and the greens were rolling beautifully. Traps were well maintained, tee boxes well kept, we played blacks and two of us finished in 3 hr 15 min. Great time to play.
Great Course, terrible pace
Love this course. Pace of play has been bad but this may have been the last time I can play there. 1 hour 20 minutes into round and I am in the 5th fairway looking at the slowest foursome ever. We actually had 4 groups on the 2nd hole and I've never seen that. Called clubhouse to get ranger on the foursome and they said he went home at 4:30, will try to see if he could get someone out there. We jumped them the next hole. Came back to finish the skipped hole almost in the dark. GET YOUR TIMES TO 2:15 PER SIDE BROADLANDS!!!
Love the Broadlands!
This is by far my favorite course in SE Wisconsin. The staff is outstanding and the course is always in excellent condition. Perfectly wide open fairways and challenging par 3's.
Fun track
This is a great course. Lots of interesting holes and good variety. The course was in great shape for how dry it has been in WI. The pace was quite slow with so many players on the course but it was a Saturday afternoon. One of the best values in SE WI.
Best round of year
Course was in good shape. A little crisp is some spots, but still good. Can't wait to play again. Shot career best 39 in front 9. Back 9 was almost as good.
Good course
Although it was still early of the season, the course condition was pretty good.
Awesome landscape
I love the views and scenery. Combine that with the great conditions and challenging but fair course. This is one of my favorite places to play
Amazing Greens
Course was great. Greens were amazing, they rolled beautifully--like a private course. Course was beautiful. It has a british-style course feel (no trees, long grass). I personally like that layout. It allows you to be a little wild off the tee without going into the water or out of bounds. There are a few holes with water but usually the hole has a bailout. Most holes are straight or have a slight dogleg--so you can hit driver on most holes. This is a course for all skill levels. If you spray the ball, you may get into trouble with the long grass though, but there is room to be a little wild. I don't like playing courses more than once because I get bored of playing the same course over and over. Most courses are not worth playing regularly--not nice enough. Not Broadlands though. I would play this course numerous times per year. I think it the best course near Waukesha and Milwaukee.
Great Value
A fun and challenging course, well worth the money.
Consistently Solid
Broadlands is a good choice. Pace was a bit slow, but course in good shape and always playable. Fescue is growing up so you have to be careful, but if you get in trouble it is usually your own fault. recommended
Spring outing delights 120 golfers
They really know how to put on an event...range balls and dinner included for $56 was a great deal as the food was great and the staff was top notch. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed the course as they had nice elevations with good fairways. I agree that the tee boxes needed help and the pace was 6 hours with the outing that was maxed out. This is a must play a few times a year as the track was fun and the sand comes into play a lot. Greens were a bit slow but the breaks and contour was spot on. Five eagles made during the outing so there chances to score well...I also love that the houses on the course are out of the way and you're not playing out of someone's yard at all. Great pro shop as they couldn't fit another item in and the selection was great on clothes and clubs.
This course used to be good
I have been playing Broadlands for years, and it's been going downhill for awhile. The staff is friendly, but the condition of the fairways and greens is terrible and getting worse.
The tee boxes look like they have not been rotated properly for years. Most of the grass is dead. It's sad when you have to look for a spot with grass to tee your ball on. Also, the tee boxes are loaded with broken tees.
The fairways are half dead (literally), and the greens are shaggy and full of holes.
I used to love this place, but it has gotten so bad that I think I'm just going to go elsewhere.
