Beautiful course in fantastic condition. Very friendly staff in the clubhouse and proshop
Challenging course
I played this with friends today, lovely course fairways nice and wide. Greens had been spiked so greens hard to putt on but its that time of year..I will play again
Short but testing
Nice course, but short. Could be quite easy on a summers day
Very good course
This is a great course. My third time playing it and each time I’ve been very impressed. It’s in good condition for this time of year and staff are very friendly. Will be back again soon
Nice course! Play Very slow
Really nice course, but the speed of play was disgraceful, 3 ball of women did not once offer to let me (1 Male alone) play through, or acknowledge the fact I was on the same tee box as them almost a few times. It's just a bit of common sense and common courtesy! Apart from that, all staff were lovely and the course is in very good condition! Will 100% return
Best greens this year!
Considering the time of year I played Thurles, it was in immaculate condition. The greens were running at 12 or just over on the stimpmeter making them much quicker than what I'm used to playing on. The front 9 has larger more undulating greens making them more a challenge. The back 9 has more traditional smaller, flatter green surfaces however both were running as pure as you could hope for. Position from the tee is the key to scoring on this course especially on 2nd and 4th holes. The 4th requires an accurate long iron or hybrid shot into a narrow lay up are short of a water hazard followed by another min to long iron approach. A great track, warm hospitality and apparently famous for the curry on the menu! The members were also very welcoming and all the staff were very helpful. If you're in the area, it's a must play!
Great golf course
Played it for the first time and was really surprised how good a test it was. Great variation in the holes with lots of tree lined fairways. Greens were superb. Running very smooth and fast for this time of year. Will definitely play it again when I'm back down in the area again.
Very nice course
Very nice mature parkland course with a good standard of greens.
Would play again
A real gem!
Thurles is a wonderful course. it is a traditional, tree lined and very scenic track but this belies quite a stern test of golf where playing to your handicap is a good result. The clubhouse is particularly charming where great food is served all day. There a very warm welcome to visitors. a real gem, not to missed!
