Honestly had so much fun playing this course , the hills make it very exciting, definitely will be back to play again
Abbeyleix golf club
Pro Shop closed on a Sunday, not a good first impression. Course very basic. Signage between holes is a shambles. Some of the greens were in poor condition. A few blind shots playing the course for the first time. You need to be a mountain goat to get around some holes. Very hilly. Over an hour from Dublin. Not a great course. I won't be back that's for sure.
Perfekt Day
It was a perfekt day. And a cold beer and fish n ship, don‘t need more.
Well worth a visit
Played a lovely round of golf today in Abbeyleix Golf Club. Fairways were just mowed and greens although just recently sanded were fine to play on. Food in Roots afterwards was top class as usual. We wish them every success in their new venture at The Heath Golf Club, Portlaoise.
Greens were very poor. Seven flags left on the greens. Oblivious to the holes. Would not recommend

We enjoyed the wonderful variety of holes each presenting a different challenge and great value for money 👋👋
Greens and fairways in very bad condition. Very dirty fairways. Worst I’ve seen this year.
Great challenge but a fair one
First time to play this course and i have to say on arriving i was quite excited to play.
We went into the bar and had a drink before tee off (11am) and had a coors, a perfectly done pint 👌.
The course itself is very well designed with holes that were challenging but very fair as in the par 5's can range from 430-500. I love how every hole is different, its what makes a course to be honest, variety is key and this course has that. A very friendly course and would recommend and we will be back!
Great course and great value for money
I have played courses 3 times the price and not as nice
Awful
No1 in club house , other groups 20 mins late teeing off with buggies , un cut fair ways , over grown rough , patchy greens ? Fallen trees , yes bad weather but still seems very unmaintained
Best thing they’d do is sell it to a dairy farmer
And don’t get me started on finding next tee box, terrible signage

Four of us played abbeyleix we are not playing golf that long and it is the best course we have played well maintained for this time of the year well done to the green keepers green's and fairways well done staff very friendly
Lovely course
Would love a bit more direction off the tees for new players but great course, great condition. I would play again
