Should have been told needed to drop in the rough

Can see the appeal of this course. Unfortunately when we booked we weren't told that if the ball landed in the fairway we needed to lift and drop in the rough due to course maintenance on the fairways.That was both disappointing and made play rather slow. Really feel that should have been flagged at time of booking.

Also there were only 14 holes open. In fairness we were offered the opportunity to play the 1st 4 again but again feel this is info we should have had at time of booking.

The staff were nice. Particularly in the clubhouse where we had a lovely meal after.

I'd probably give it one more try. The course seems nice with interesting holes and nice surroundings. Greens were decent for January

‘chairperson’

Everything about the round was great except for the ‘chairperson’ who ran out to my son and I on the first teebox thinking we were sneaking out asking me for our names. I was given some BS story that he was looking for some random person, extremely unprofessional.

I might add all of the other staff in Oughterard golf club are very friendly and helpful

Fair test off the white tees. Course in great condition. Greens roofing true. Great value with Golf Now hot deals. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended.

About 29 minutes from Galway city. Really enjoyed our round. Started early so no hold ups. Greens and fairways in fine shape and staff all friendly towards us. Didn't heve an opportunity to eat but a oleasent waitress made sure we got our cappuccino before we went.

Be ack for sure, next time in the area.
