tricky pin on par 3 hole 4 Photo submitted by readski on 11/14/2017
Great practice course
Had a blast playing here, worth every penny. Some of the rough can be very thick, greens were slow but played true and smooth. Can’t complain, for the money it’s worth it.
Good deal/course
Well designed course with a variety of holes, in good shape particularly for the time of year, few players so our mid-morning round only took just under 3 hours. Only negatives (minor), not explaining flags/locations prior to round and not being able to take cart into parking lot.
It'll test your putting
GC is long, open and there are more than enough trees to make it difficult. The fairways are typical of desert courses being green and short in the center and dry and hard in the rough (that's why they call it the rough). The greens are not oversized, but plenty of undulations and in very good shape. No matter how well you hit the ball its the greens where the strokes really are. I like this course for its length and challenge. One of the best values around.
Great course for Yuma
Great Public course that plays long, greens are in nice shape, speed was a little slow 8-9 but I think they may be leaving them a little long because of hot weather. Fairways are grassed but hard do lots of roll :). Price is just 15 if walking.
Real nice golf course
The greens are large and undulating making putting from easy to difficult depending on pin placement. The fairways are in pretty good shape but the rough needs work. I always enjoy playing here
Golf outing
Haven’t golfed this course in 10 years Generally it was in good shape but directions to tee boxes are non existent Each tee has signage but hard to tell how to get to it from last green After a little driving they were found
Was planning on hotdog to go after first nine but nobody knew in the bar area if hotdogs were available!
Great public course
Visited Desert Hills today! Greens and collars are in great shape, fairway hard but no bare spots, and lots of green grass. Tee boxes are in great shape. The carts are old but work and the workers there are always courteous. This course plays long so pick the right tees for you. I have played here for 7 winters now and this place is the most consistent in Yuma after 100s of rounds. This place really puts the City of Yuma on the map!
Lots of hard pan
Fun course. Grass just starting to grow? Pretty short grass on fairways
Slow play
For the first playing the course I found it fun and challenging. The pace of play was slow but tolerable. I'll be playing this course in the future for sure.
Good
The starter is knowledgeable and does his job, but a Marshal is needed from time to time
Always a good play
Greens are fast and smooth, a real gem for Yuma!
Plays long but Fairways are wide.Only reason it's not a 5 is there are really nice and expensive courses in California and bigger cities that are nicer of course. It's a 5 for the money :)
Carts are old but run :)
