tricky pin on par 3 hole 4 Photo submitted by readski on 11/14/2017
Great course
Course was in great shape! First time playing this course, I will enjoy it many times during my visit.
Best Course In Town
We are here every winter and play Desert Hills 90% of the time. It’s the longest course in area with some difficulty and firm, breaking greens. Par 72 for men and 73 for the ladies. We played today, walking, in just 3 hours. 16,500 steps. Price is best in town and they are the only course that offers a walking rate. With Golf Now we pay between $12-24 to walk. Only ding I give the course, is the price of beer and liquor is too high, and food is also pricey but very good.
Good for Yuma
Short grass and hard ground, greens in good shape, gravel bunkers, wide Fairways with just enough trouble. Plays long. Carts are in rough shape but are dependable. Staff is kind. This is the best deal in Yuma for the money.
Fun course, great value
The driving range is ok, the practice greens (3) are all in pretty good shape. The course itself plays pretty long, a few long par 4’s uphill that 4 or 5 is a good score, a few par 5’s play under 500 downhill and 4 or 5 is usually attainable. All 4 par 3’s are different and fun. Overall the course is fairly wide, so u have some room to breathe, the greens are fairly undulating and the greenskeeper can put a few holes in VERY challenging spots. Overall satisfied with the practice facilities, tees, fairways, greens pace of play for the price.
Nice layout
It backed up real bad on the 8th hole till the end they should try to regulate that a bit slow golf is not so good
The virus
The course looks like it may have Covid 19 .
The shutdown has affected maintenance. The course is still in good playing condition but getting a little rough around the edges . It appears that they’ve let the greens get long and lush to protect them from the summer heat . I prefer slower greens so it works for me .
Continuing state of awesomeness
This course continues to be the best course in Yuma, There are nicer courses out there but not in this town, the fairways look like carpet and the greens are flat and smooth, the green speed is a little slower than normal, prolly around a 8-9. Its walking only and there are self serve pull carts sitting there by the club house door, sand trap rule is pull the ball out of the trap and place no closer to the hole and the cups are inverted so the ball just barely drops in and do not remove flag rule applies.
Great day for golf
The course was in good shape for AZ. Check in was a breeze. We started on time and were not held up playing. Had a wonderful round of golf.
