Verde River Golf & Social Club
About
Verde River Golf & Social Club (formerly known as Tegavah Golf Club and Vista Verde Golf Course) has a desert style layout that features panoramic views of Four Peaks, the Superstition Mountains, Weaver's Needle, and the Tonto National Forest. In addition to the scenery, the golf course also presents interesting challenges such as subtle contours and desert wasteland areas that guard the holes. The greens lead to generous landing areas that require precision and length. Although only one water hazard comes into play on one hole, there are several sand bunkers strategically situated throughout. Verde River Golf & Social Club offers five sets of teeboxes to offer suitable challenges for players of all skill levels and abilities.

too much desert to play over
no facilities whatsoever. under construction and not what the average courses have around the country. too many blind shots over desert areas where we were unfamiliar with the course. wayyyyy overpriced compared to all the others in the area. not worth the 45 min drive at all. would not play again.
The course was challenging because there was dessert on either side of the fairway. Sand guarded the greens well, too.
This was a scenic course that made you hit the ball strategically to set up your next shot. If you slice or hook, your next shot can be challenging with desert plants on either side of the fairways. Greens were in excellent shape.
This course really made me think of my next shot. Plus, I loved the scenery. Of course, I don't get this type of scenery in Nebraska.
Looking forward to our next "guys trip" to play this course again.

Great Course
Love the course will play again. There are no facilities here so my wife was a little disappointed. The huge advantage NO Houses loved it
Great value
3rd year straight playing over MLK weekend. What a great secret. The course is very playable, with danger close off the fairways. Twilight rates are very reasonable. The clubhouse situation is less than desirable, but we are there to golf, and Vista Verde provides that experience.
Beautiful Course
It is a beautiful desert course. The course is very well maintained. There are number of washes cut through fairways, which make it very difficult to play. Greens are fast and hard to read.
There are not club house and food services on side. If you do not mind of that, and you like the challenge, this is a course you would enjoy.
Excellent desert course.
Course and greens were in great shape. We went to the Phoenix area to play in the desert on a course such as Vista Verde.
Worth Playing
Always enjoy my rounds here. The folks are friendly and the course is in good shape. It is quite a drive but worth the trip.
Great course - poor facilities
They really need a clubhouse. Course is great but porta john's???
Great Course no houses developed
This is an example of a great course in a development that did not make it. No clubhouse, but cart service on the course. But the course is in great shape and the views are outstanding, no houses in the way to obstruct the views of the mountains and desert, just playing in the wide open spaces. A very enjoyable day.
Good round in the middle of nothing
This course seemed like it was built with the hope of development coming in around it. No clubhouse yet. That said, a beautiful course with great views of Four Peaks.
Watch out for the "wild" horses
Nice course with nothing around it. Great mountain and desert views. The course was not spectacular, but well maintained. A few greens had hoof marks, while driving out we saw why. Wild horses (or loose ones from nearby stables) were on the greens eating and fighting each other. Was kinda cool to see. Probably will come back, although it's a drive to get there.
Good course, great views
This course was enjoyable, good condition and a fair challenge, Although the course lacks clubhouse, the course is worth trying.
The greens wee very nice and challenging!
The course played very well. A little wind. The fairways and greens were very nice. Great value for the money.
great views
20 min drive east of scottsdale. rural area with great views of tonto mountains. pristine conditions.payed $60 on golfnow.what a deal.this is a new course so they don't have a club house built . the day I played the wind in scottsdale was 15 mph. at vista verde 3 mph. the course is protected by the mountains. I would recommend this course for any skill player.
If you live in North Valley Its the best course for dollars spent
If you don't need all the accoutrements (clubhouse, etc.) then this is the course for you. It has great views, nice driving range, and 4 T's to allow you to adjust the course difficulty to your game. The rate for this area at this time of year was super using Golf.Now.
Try it. You'll like it.
Very good course
This is a very good golf course with no clubhouse. Fairways and greens are in nice shape and some scenic views an many holes with no houses or roads.
Joined up with 3 other guys and had a very enjoyable day of golf.
Good value as well.
Very nice course and scenery
Great course. Challenging and great scenery with the desert and mountains. No club house, but didn't matter to us. Just looking for great golf. Very few homes in area.
Nice easy course
This was my first visit and found the course very playable. There were a few trick holes and more yardage identifiers would be helpful, but other than that, the course was in great condition and recommended for men and women.
Great course - well worth the drive
If you haven't seen the views out this way, that alone would be well worth the drive to play this course, but Vista Verde offered us a great time. Our foursome was comprised of 2 couples, and we ladies felt the front 9 was easier than the back -- we managed to avoid sand and other troubles pretty well. The guys complained that the sand was too packed down, which made for pretty challenging shots, especially close to the greens. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. We'll definitely be playing this one again soon.
Great course but needs a club house for full golf experience
It was recommended by a local. It did not disappoint on the golf course but needs to have the extras. I would have loved to stay and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains in a club house. The facilities really need a full service club house
You also need new golf carts.
