Willow Metro
The course was in good shape but green are slow and many wet areas on the ciurse.
Good Course, Good People
I have golfed at Willow more than a few times now, and I will say I always enjoy it. The views are very nice during certain times of the year, and the staff has always been friendly and accommodating.
The course was a little wet this past weekend, but that is expected at this time of year.
Willow Metro Park
Very nice course to play. Excellent condition, I like the layout, there are some tough holes and some not so tough holes but the entire course requires you to concentrate on your golf swing and hit good shots or you will be in trouble, every hole. Great greens and fairways and tees, for the price this course is hard to beat.
Very nice
Beautiful course and layout. A bit on the long side but very enjoyable to play. Feels like you are playing a northern Michigan course.
Must Play
All things considered, this course is a great value. The price was very inexpensive, the fairways and greens were in super condition.
I played courses this year that cost $45.00, that were in this shape.
Highly recommend!
Why have tee times?
Buddy and I went and played Willow. I called in and set a tee time for 2:40pm. We get to the course and we check in at about 2:25pm, we are told we are behind the 'two guys' right there. We load our cart and we notice the 'two guys' still on the putting green and its 2:35. 2:40pm rolls around and they are still on the green, go to the first tee and there are people there! What's the point of tee times!? I would recommend having a ranger picking up the pace of play or have people tee off on 1 and 10 instead of everyone going off 1 tee.
Pros:
- Green are good
- Fairways are on point, very nice
- Has that 'up north' feel with the woods and some hidden shots
Cons:
- Pace of play
- Everyone has to tee off #1 hole
- Bunkers had rocks in them...YES ROCKS!! Geezz! Why???
Overall I would play again, maybe different time of day. Fun little course
St Louis
Always try to play one of the Metro courses when visiting the area. Course was in good shape for this time of the season. Greens were good maybe a little slow. For a first-time play you need more course knowledge to be in the right place off the tee. Would like to play it again.
Third time at Willow
Fell in love with the course the first time we played, weather kind of sucked but we managed to play a decent round, 2nd time weather much nicer, my game sucked, 3rd time out weather perfect, great rate and played half way decent. Pace was kind of slow the 3rd time out but that doesn't bother us, gives us more rest between holes!
Great layout,terrible greens
This course is on a wonderful piece of property and is a great layout. To bad the conditions are fair at best. This course could be the premier course in the area. Big problem is the greens. They are always bumpy and slow. Wish they would at least keep them like they do at Lake Erie. It's just a shame.
Wet; heavy continuous rain in area.
Long rain time in area; I am glad they opened course.. Front 9 fine. Back 9 really wet. 10th should have been closed; too wet to play. I have always liked this course; weather is no one's fault but drainage on 10 needs to be improved.
Comeback next year.
The course had just punched the greens the day before. Who ever operated the machine, didn't know what they were doing. Along with the holes that were punched, the greens were tore and scraped up too. Comeback next year..
What a great course!
Course was in excellent shape! We got a good deal off Golfnow and we were very impressed with the course conditions, lay out and strategic playing. Check it out! Fun play!
Well kept
As always the course was tip top. Greens in great shape.
