Sanctuary Lake Golf Course

Too many blind shots and confusing routing makes this course less fun than it should be. I hit to the wrong green twice and I have never done that before. Bunkers are little more than holes filled with loose dirt. On one tee, vegetation had grown so high that it was not possible to see the fairway—a major problem if one has never played a course before. The cart path was under construction and we had to deal with front end loaders and steam rollers on several tees. I also feel that every putt broke away from the holes as if the holes were not tamped down properly. The course itself is interesting and generally in decent shape except for the glaring issues above. I doubt I will return, though.

Pace of play not a problem completed 18 in 4 hours 10 minutes, every group was a four sum in front of us. The course was in very good shape there were areas of cart path work going on and saw people working on a good number o these ares . I will for sure play there again.

I don’t understand why I’m paying $65 for a course that looks like I should be paying about $40 at most. It is absolutely disrespectful as a resident of Troy knowing how much money this golf course makes in revenue every year! Seeing this course in the shape it was in was a slap in my face. The fairway ruts, bunker pool on the 1st hole(really, 1st hole🤦🏻‍♂️), o ranger to keep the pace(groups of kids all over the place, junior golfers are awesome by the way), hundreds of divots on the green, carts with usb guts pulled out, bald range balls, worn out flag sticks, missing placement flags, and a myriad of other things! People need to unite and fight against the mismanagement of funds at this so-called Municipal course. The city of Troy should be ashamed.

The rate of play was awful. No ranger to speed up play! They must have put too many golfers out. We waited 15 minutes on most of the holes. 18 holes took 4 hours and 40 minutes! Way too long for this course!

Nice course but we won’t play there again!

Always a very busy course, Don't ever expect a quick round, but it is an enjoyable course, with a lot of birdies to be had.

TOOK 5 HOURS TO PLAY 18. TEED OFF AROUND 12:15 P.M. IF THEY'RE GOING TO RUN THE T-TIMES THAT CLOSE AND THAT PACKED, THEY SHOULD HAVE A COUPLE OF RANGERS OUT THERE PUSHING PEOPLE ALONG. I SAW AT LEAST ONCE NO ONE ON A HOLE AHEAD OF US, BUT 3 GROUPS BACKED UP.

Overall, this course has a nice layout and great views. Four of the 18 holes are quite similar, which isn’t enticing.

The day we golfed was extremely hot and play in front of us was very slow. We waited on almost every hole. The biggest complaint is that there was never a ranger to check on players or keep things moving. The beverage cart was around regularly, which was appreciated. It took us 5 1/2 hours to play a round.

Worst course I’ve ever played. 1 hr and half rain delay. Completely flooded and they don’t even send an email or phone call to inform you it’s backed up. Make sure to call before your t time if you want to golf here. Also smells terrible
