Great course, but overbooked and slow
We had a 3 some play on Sunday. $194 for the 3 of us. Round started off decent for a few holes, but someone on the course caused a major backup. At one point while we were waiting to tee off on tue back 9, we had 3 other groups waiting behind us at the tee box. That is unacceptable.
Ranger came by once in our 5+ hour round and said he was getting multiple complaints for slow play. It literally got slower after we saw the ranger. I was so fed up by 18 I didn't even finish the hole. Ruined my round waiting on every single shot.
It bums me out because I absolutely love the course & layout. The course conditions are always great. But I'm never coming back to play this course unless I'm the first tee time out in the morning. I just don't trust their clubhouse to not overbook the course or the ranger to enforce slow play.
Enforce Slow Play Issues
Sanctuary Lake is a terrific course but slow play must be enforced. Otherwise, playing a round becomes intolerable. And when that happens, I won't play there again. For a course like theirs, they need to have rangers to make sure play is moving along.
Enjoyed Course
I’ve always wanted to play at Sanctuary Lake. It definitely didn’t disappoint.
Beautiful challenging course, did 9 holes. Bought gift certificates and going back on the 4th of July. Club house food, spirits and service best in the area.
Decent Course but Odd Pin Placements
The course was decently kept up, but 65 dollars for that place is way too high. Also, review your pin placements or have some supervision over who does it. Wow were there some oddly placed pins today. #9 par 3 sticks in my mind, among others.
Fun round
Overall condition very good greens a little slow for my liking but still good fun place to play need to think your way around a lot of different shot options
Course is challenging. After tee shot many of your shots can be from difficult lies. Not much rough but alot of water and marsh areas to grab your attention.
Only complaint was that on this weekday the pace was a slow 5 hour round. Nice course overall and definitely worth playing.
