Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton is one of the only courses in the area designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has a hilly terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes a well as stunning views. Tumbling across deep ravines and native wetlands, the layout requires many carries over dramatic depressions and water hazards but many are seemingly intimidating but actually quite reasonable. Massive, finely sculpted bunkers strategically frame the greensides of many holes. While some of them are manageable, others are deep and sod-faced. The tricky hazards in conjunction with the dramatic elevations demand both accuracy and creative shot-making. The golf course has a memorable finish with a par-5, risk-reward hole. There is ample room off the tee on this downhill, dogleg left hole and it presents a few different options for the second shot. With some thought, scoring par is definitely a possibility.

This Lovely Course Requires an 'A' Game

I love this course!
1) Beautiful setting and every hole is a different experience.
2) Good shots are rewarded while poor ones are usually punished with a visit to the water, woods, or high brush.
3) I usually find over 40 lost balls to add to my collection every time I play this course. To all the high handicappers out there who've played Coyote Preserve, Thanks!

PS. As A 16 Index I've shot as low as 82 here when my 'A' game was working. I've also had my share of 98's when not.

Great layout. Solid course

Awsome layout. The course is generally in pretty good condition. Some bunkers had new sand and were awesome. Others were hard with old sand. The course is not in as good of condition as it used to be when it first opened up. but it is still in decent to very decent shape. What I like most is just the track itself. Excellent variety of hole layouts. The course is a great value for the money with the GolfNow rates or twilte. Otherwise it is still a fair deal. For the most part, I've found that the staff could be a little friendlier.

Excellent course

Fantastic course. Difficult, but an average golfer can play it from the whites and have a good time. Fun variety of holes. Excellent condition. If you can get a good deal, it's a must play.

Hidden Gem

The course was a great value and it being fairly far away from Metro Detroit I havent played it before.

First off, its actually not that far. Living in Berkley it was a 45 minute drive. Yes its 47 miles away, but its all Highway.

Secondly, the course is in great shape and the greens putted very true.

Third, there were some picturesque holes on the course. I was surprised on how great the course was and cant wait to play again.

Whether at full price, or a value on Golf Now the course is one that should be played.

Would definitey gold this course again!

Challenging course with some beautiful holes. Considering the hot, dry weather we've had the course was in great shape. Play was a little slow but considering the course was full and some of the challenging holes, it was to be expected. All this combined with the great price obtained from Golfnow . . this is a definite "play again" course.

High quality golf course

Coyote preserve is a very high quality golf course. Well manicured, interesting layout, and quite difficult. Not for beginner golfers by any means. My only complaint is pace of play, and a lot of that has to do with the difficulty of the course and talent level of those playing it. Make sure you play appropriate tees when you are out there. This is not the course to be a hero and play the tips. I am a 5 handicap and the blue tees are plenty challenging for me!

Great Layout

This course used to be five stars. Still my favorite layout in SE Michigan. Course conditions have suffered lately. Very memorable holes, great shots rewarded, bad shots harshly penalized. #16 is a very bad hole. The remaining 17 are well designed and very picturesque. Overall, definitely worth playing.

Cool layout!

To quote Gary Player on Arnie's course designs for the common man "he was just way too good of a player!"

Coyote Preserve got more difficult for me around the greens/par 3's, tee shots were plenty playable and fair.
