Situated just a few minutes from Muskegon, Stonegate Golf Club in Stone Lake sprawls across gently rolling hills that are surrounded by the beauty of the Manistee National Forest. The undulating terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that can give you a different round every time you play. Although there are residences bordering the golf course, it still feels completely secluded thanks to the sheltering trees and pristine natural setting that is accented with marshes and ponds. The golf course has a variety of greens, most are slightly raised and some are open in front while others have slopes and bunkers protecting them. The putting surfaces roll true with only a few mild undulations. Stonegate's fairways can be tricky since they’re lined with mature pines and hardwoods and more often than not you’ll find one or more bunkers guarding the most opportune landing areas.

Great Day golfing.
We had a very warm Spring day playing golf. (Temp. 80 degree) , the coarse was in great shape for this early in the season.
Beautiful course
It's still early in the season so the course isn't exactly on point but I kind of expected that. Still an awesome place to play. I will definitely be back.
beautiful to play in the fall and in great condition
the course was playable for all players. our golf was in misty rain. we played the white tees at 5900 yards. it was challenging but very fair.
loved the course even as i had played it many times.
airriated with new equipment
wish each course would use this system which required much less if any sand on the greens.

I think this course is more suited to the experienced good golfer.
Solid Course
Got a great deal on Golf Now to play Stonegate for $24. I believe the standard rate is close to $50 (a little high IMHO). Course was in average condition. A few tee boxes and stretches of fairway looked diseased. Otherwise the course was in good shape. I really like the layout and the fact its 10 minutes from the house. A lot more character to this course than the typical West Michigan course IMHO. More like a Northern Michigan course.
Beautiful Course
I just played this course for the first time and was really impressed with it. Everything from fairways to greens were in amazing shape. Most of the holes have elevation change to them making for challenging shots but also beautiful views. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Stonegate
A nice course with a respectable layout. Greens and fairways were very well maintained. We paired with a single and played behind a 4some and still finished around 4 hours. Fair price for the course, would play again.
Great test of golf
This course is fun to play, greens are reachable but good putting is required. Reasonable rates and great vibe from the staff.

Course was in great shape, greens were fast. Challenging holes with good set up. Play was slow, we caught a 5 some on our second hole and they never let us play through.

The greens were fast but putted true. Love the feeling of isolation on almost every hole. Would play again with a coupon or some kind of deal or golfnow.com "hot deals". A little pricey.
Great course
Excellent condition and just a bit challenging to the ordinary golfer. I have a 15 handicap and I thought the course was perfect for my handicap. I shot a 90 so I was satisfied. For $39.00 on a Sunday afternoon, it is a bargin'
Great Course
This is a beautiful course to have in the Muskegon area. Difficult and challenging but very rewarding if you play it right. I love the secluded feeling as you play through the hilly terrain. A+

Challenging for the best gilders, yet very playable and enjoyable for the average golfer. I highly recommend this course - excellent value!
Nice course
Greens fast, but true. Holes demanding, but fair except for #10 which was gimmicky with no true landing area for approach. Perfect weather with no hold up and no pretension in staff or setup.
Gold Stonegate GC using Golf Now
One of my favorite West Michigan courses. Great value for the $45/18 hole round. We saved $17 per person using Golf Now app. Simple and easy to use ... recommend!
Just Wonderful
Went on a Friday after an outing. We had the course pretty much to ourselves and really enjoyed our round. Even after an outing the course was in great shape. We were fortunate to get a reduced rate thru GolfNow otherwise the green fees can be pretty high. You need to stay below the pin on some of the greens particularly #10. When the price is right I would always play this course in the beautiful Manistee National forest.
Nice Course
Stonegate is a very nice course and the staff is one of the friendliest. With the amount of rain that we've had this spring, most courses have a lot of water in places there usually isn't any, but not at Stonegate. That might seem small but being able to play your ball where it lies and not having to fish it out of a pond in the middle of the fairway is nice. Overall, one of the best golf courses overall.
