Pleasant round of golf
My wife & I, both high handicappers, enjoyed a pleasant round of golf at St Johns.
The staff was excellent, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
We played on the Thanksgiving holiday, and the pace of play could not have been better, as the course was relatively absent of other golfers.
The course & conditions were average/good in quality. The low cost of our GolfNow hot deal made this excellent value for this outing.
Could be nice - greens hoirrible
Not worth $10 green were horrible they had not been cut in weeks - some had 3 inch long growth - most courses have better tee boxes or aprons
Greens?!?!?!?
Got a great rate for this course. Got there an hour early and they let me go. Everything great. Hit a straight ball down the middle fairways in great shape. Nice 7 iron to the green and then boom get to the greens they look like the fairways. Not cut. Other than that all else was good.
WASTE OF TIME to drive from S JAX to this COW PASTURE
Drove down from JAX for the first time,
once we arrived, we were RUSHED, given a WET SEATED CART (it was raining and no one was there to take our clubs out of the back of my wifes car)
We got on our way and saw the GREENS!!!
DISGUSTING LONG AND SHORT grass - damaged grass, and diseased grass,
YOU CANT PUTT For your LIFE ON THIS STUFF - no point in playing if you cant score!
AN NO WARNING WHEN YOU BUY ON "GOLF NOW" or when you get to the COURSE
a VERY UNPLEASANT SURPRISE when you get to Hole #1
Snack shop looked like a BOMB hit it, and they were not ready for customers turning at 10:30 am
FOLKS SPEND YOUR $$$$ a BETTER PLACE like Julington, South Hampton or CIMMARONE

I'm sure the place is fine to play.......just way too many golfers. But maybe a seniors paradise.
Great Day
Course was in great condition, greens were a little sandy, but putting was fast.
Gnats!
This time of year in Florida playing golf can be a bit of challenge when there is a lack of insect control on the course. I usually enjoy playing this course, but the last two times I have played the gnats were almost overwhelming. I had to spray myself down repeatedly to have any chance of taking a swing without gnats in my ears and face. (I compare this to the King and Bear practice facility where I have had no issues with gnats at all.)
You get what you pay for
Course conditions were ok.. Not the friendliest staff... Slow group ahead of us and no course monitor to make them move faster or let us play through. Pretty sure this is the last time I'll be playing here. Too many courses in the area for that..
Very enjoyable golf course
Very challenging course with a lot of water. I would recommend this course to my friends
Friendly staff
Staffers very friendly, course was in good shape and very playable would recommend this course. Great experience
Okay but get those duffers moving
Overall and OK round of golf the greens were a little bumpy and slow but consistent through the 18 holes pace of play was a problem seem to be many local people to Sims threesomes in front of us that were just holding things up we waited on every Teebox no ranger on the course to speed up play
Great value, good condition.
The course was in good condition and very good value for money, would recommend.
Nice course...
First time there and liked the staff, course and layout...Offered driving range, chipping and putting area`s, all in nice shape...
Fun for the money
It's not the best course but it is fun to play and a good value. For a public golf course it is kept in pretty good condition.
Great Course!
Great Course in really nice condition. Great staff, very good selection in the Process Shop. They were out of logo balls... hopefully they will have some next time.
Poor Maintenance around Greens
The fringe around most of the greens were in not in good shape. It appears the grounds crew was pulling up the grass to cut it, but it was not done during our round of golf between 8:52 AM to nearly 1:00 PM on June 22, 2016. It cost our group of four golfers a number of strokes due to this condition and made a couple of us really upset. I advised the personnel at the pro shop and they told me what the groundkeepers had done, but I told him that we should have been told of this condition around the greens before we started playing. St. Johns County golf course needs better management of the grounds crew.

Great Value!
I have played St. Johns many times over the years and have never seen this course in such fantastic condition. The management and staff is as friendly as could be. Highly recommend this venue.
Course review
I liked the layout of the course. It's a risk reward course. Lot's of water but lot's of safe plays also.I enjoyed it a lot.

We are sorry that you had a bad experience and for not having an overseed alert listed on the site when your reservation was made. We have corrected this on Golfnow, and would love to have you give us a try in the future. We look forward to our course being in great shape all winter.
