New Albany Links Golf Club
About
New Albany Links Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling hills covered with meandering creeks, mature trees, and native grasses and wetlands. There are also a number of lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a fair challenge but it prides itself on its playability. With tees ranging between 4,800 and 7,000 yards, the course accommodates a range of different skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout. New Albany Links Golf Club's 12th hole is one of the course's most memorable. It requires a long drive and an approach that carries past a long bunker and a pond to a narrow green. To the left is certain punishment but a tough up and down waits if you miss right.

Beautiful Houses! Photo submitted by Ashton9524221 on 06/12/2013
Tricky Course
The place looked great and there are quite a few creatively designed holes that are tricky off the tee. The downside was the greens were aerated recently so the greens weren't a pleasure to play, but I'm anxious to see what they're like under normal conditions. Some of the holes play pretty tight up to houses so an errant shot with a long club is likely to bounce off a roof....
Good spot, I look forward to returning.
Great views, challenging grass and bunkers
Great playability for all levels with 5 different tee boxes, great visuals as you ride the cart path or when you walk to your ball. No real trees to lose your ball in but plenty of long grass and sand to contend with
Tight Course! Makes you think on every tee box!
Second time playing New Albany and I really enjoyed the course. Lost a few more balls than I expected due to the tight fairways, unforgiveness and bad-kicks on a couple of holes. You have to be accurate off the tees here. I used my 3-wood on all pars 4's and 5's. You should leave the driver in the bag or at home! Fun layout and great value for the $25 I paid on golf now.com.. Go play!
Check conditions of the greens before you play
Hadn't played here in several years. Last time out the greens were severely stressed. Asked in the pro shop prior to playing about condition of the greens. We were told all was well. Got to green #1....freshly aerated!!! Would have thought this would have been mentioned when we asked about the greens.
Other than that a great course, plenty of variation, we were first out so pace was not an issue.
very nice greens/ fairways. Fast greens
Well designed and challenging. Played from blue tees. Need to keep drives straight and 2 putting isn't gauarnteed ( true but lots of tricky turns)
good challenging course
Challenging but fun to play. A course guide book or good GPS is a must if you are a first time player of this course. Greens very fast and difficult to read.
good track with some very difficult holes
good course. highly recommend. not an easy course to walk, but it is doable. Some great hols to really challenge your shot making. some seem so simple, but any hole can give some big numbers.
A favorite with a lot of my golfing friends, as well as myself.
Unmaintained sand traps and incorrect yardages on scorecard
This is a good golf course, a real challenge to my wife and me,both 70 year olds. They have moved the gold tees to where the red tees used to be and added a new set of forward tees for the red. This makes it more reasonable for women and seniors, but they they need to change the yardages on the scorecard.
The traps were in terrible shape, a real disappointment for a course of this caliber.
The greens are tough to putt, and some of them were not in very good shape.
We had a bargain with our GolfNow voucher, $22 each.
That's about right for this course.
good course, higher price
Course is a challenging layout. To know where to hit you need to know the course. It is pretty well maintained. Had a lot of standing water considering nothing else was wet. Carts were older and outdated. No map or GPS to let you know an accurate layout of the holes. Pace was pretty easy to keep.
Great course overall
The course is very challenging. It was in awesome shape. The thing that was disappointing was that not a single bunker was raked. The practice green was WAY slower than the greens on the course. The driving range was under construction so i couldn't warm up before the round. There was no beer cart girl. Despite these few things its overall a great course.
Slow play
Not sure how often they send groups out, but the pace of play on the back was terribly slow.
Good but not great.
Nice course, but pricey, not the best local value. Some of the staff were less than accommodating. Course is challenging regardless of tee selection. Greens were in fantastic shape, bring an extra ball or two.
Really nice links course, but for the average golfer bring lots of balls.
This course is a great course, albiet really expensive if you cannot find a great hot deal. However, if you can get out there for a good deal I would recommend going and enjoying the very difficult course. However, for strait hitters the course should be a good fit and good scores are possible.
nice course.
Nice course. Well taken care of. There is some construction going on, but over all, it's nice.
Always enjoyable at a good price
The course is in pretty good shape. The bunkers could use some work (but just avoiding them would be the best). A variety of holes that allows you to hit a range of clubs.
Good mix of holes
Course was in good shape.
Bunkers in play on every shot.
Greens are challenging
This course needs maintenance!!
Desperate need of up keep on the bunkers and tee boxes!
Terrible Management
The course was in great shape--well maintained.
However, the club management allowed a corporate outing on the course of about 20 players. 16 of them had never golfed before. This caused more regular golfers, who were stuck behind these 5 groups, to never want to return to New Albany Links. At the same time, the 20 players in the outing, probably won't return either since they've only played the game once.
We ended up skipping 3 holes to get around the group outing. The outing was on pace to play in 6.5 hours.
When we asked to tee off of 10 to avoid the group outing, the request was dismissed in a rude manner. Also, there was no starter on the 1st tee so our 12PM tee time turned out to be 12:30.
Very beautiful course.
The course was wet due to heavy rain previous two days, but held it really well. The course was very well maintained, few areas of ground under repair. The setup and challenge was great and pleasant environment to be in. Even nestled in housing area, did not take away from natural feeling of course. Would love to come back and play.
One Of My Favorites
I love New Albany Links! This course has a variety of challenges without being overly difficult. The course is always maintained. Even though on this most recent visit the area had experienced heavy rains they had everything back in place and had a 90 degree crossing cart rule which is always appreciated! Great greens and they were out there building drainage improvements on one par 5! Try it, you will not be disappointed!
