New Albany Links Golf Club
About
New Albany Links Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling hills covered with meandering creeks, mature trees, and native grasses and wetlands. There are also a number of lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a fair challenge but it prides itself on its playability. With tees ranging between 4,800 and 7,000 yards, the course accommodates a range of different skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout. New Albany Links Golf Club's 12th hole is one of the course's most memorable. It requires a long drive and an approach that carries past a long bunker and a pond to a narrow green. To the left is certain punishment but a tough up and down waits if you miss right.

Terrible Bunkers
The course does nor drain very well. Standing water every where. Water in all of the bunkers. Bunkers were washed out and in desperate need of sand. It got to the point where I treated the bunkers as ground under repair. Greens were just OK, a lot of them had ball marks on them. However, the course does have a challenging layout and i enjoyed that aspect. But i won't return until the conditions improve.
Nice Course...Tragic green conditions
I played here a lot last year, and had played here in April. I was told at the end of last year that driving range would be open in early April. Then I was told by the end of May. It's still not done.
The fairways are in great shape, except for all the non repaired divots from lazy and rude golfers. The greens are worse. It's like putting in a mine field. The greens are quick, but it doesn't matter if the ball won't keep it's line. It is so disappointing that many golfers that play at this course don't care about keeping the course in good condition. But it's also on management to have a ranger out there that is watching for this stuff. I saw one once the whole day. Also, this is the second time this year that I have gotten stuck behind a group of more than 4 golfers. Last time, in April, it was a fivesome. This time there were SIX golfers playing together. Again, a ranger, like they have at Golf Club of Dublin, is necessary!!! The gas carts also need to be replaced.
Worst bunkers ever
I've generally been pleased with this course in the past, but could not believe the condition of the bunkers last time out. Obviously no effort made either Thursday or Friday to prepare for play on Saturday. Many filled with water, those that weren't not raked at all, and most devoid of any sand. Fortunately I avoided most of them. Once again we started late as the course was backed up two tee times. Seems ridiculous to me they can't keep on schedule by the time 8:24 am rolls around. And forget about playing a sub 5 hour round on the weekend. Don't see many positives in New Era course managent.
Bunkers need lots of atttention
The overall condition of the course is excellent, seems that 90% of the bunkers need sand, the club would dug into muddy and the ball is going no where. Will be back soon.
Nice Day to Play
We had a great day. The weather was perfect, the course was pretty much empty at 6:30 in the morning. All in all is was a nice day to play golf!
Interesting course
Play was unusually slow, which seems to occur on most weekends. No rangers were on the course. Average time of play on most weekends seems to run from four and a half hours to six hours. Not unusual to see groups leave the course in frustration.
Good course for the money
While the teeboxes and a few greens needs some attention, overall the course was in good condition. Staff was great in accommodating our entire foursome even after we added the fourth player just hours before our tee time. When deals are available for this course, I'll play again.
Glad I came back
Its been at least 7-8 years since I played here. I left because I could not get on as a single and there always seemed like there was an outing going on.
The course was over played and getting worse.
I am happy to say that the course is in very good condition and I am glad I came back to play.
I got paired up with a couple guys and had a great time.
Facilities were in very good shape and everyone I met were accommodating and friendly.
I am looking forward to coming back to play soon.
Prepare to feel lost
First time playing this course and felt lost the entire way. As you drive in you must drive through a suburb to find the clubhouse hidden off to the side. No signs pointing where the clubhouse was! Furthermore, as you continue play they have very little to no signs pointing to where each hole is. Started off the back 9 and after playing ten I drove up to 17 by accident and had to turn around to pursue #11. Paid for 18 holes but only played 9 as it took 3 hours to play because apparently this course allows pairings of up to six. Sad to say I will not return to New Albany because the course was great and fun to play (when I wasn't waiting 20 mins in between shots) but when you have no signs, poor management of pairings, and also no maps of the holes either on the tee box or even on the score card and golf cart makes for a very frustrating experience.
Nice course, except for the bunkers
This course was pretty nice, but it was clear that the area had greatly sufferred from recent rainfall. All of the bunkers on the course were in dire need or work/repair. Overall, the fairways and greens were in good shape, and the tee boxes were excellent. The pro shop and pub were great, and the staff was superb. Again, nice course, but parts of it definitely need some work!
Great course, slow play
I'd consider myself a regular at NA Links. I love the facilities, the fairways are beautiful but the greens are terrible! Mike, one of the rangers is a great help and their new Asst Pro is a nice guy. I think they should dedicate a week or two to the greens and it would be excellent
Course with great features
The course has a nice set/design; great club house with pleasant staff. Enjoyed playing 54 holes over the weekend. The only concern is the condition of the bunkers. Although the course has received a lot of rain recently, the traps need some work done. Their doesn't seem to be an adequate amount of sand in them. Due to the storm, what sand is in there has moved to the middle from the edges exposing large rocks that could damage clubs. With some attention to the traps, this course would be rated outstanding!!!
SLOW play!
Upon arrival, the advertised driving range was closed. I was sent off the back 9 and had to wait 15 minutes to tee off. There was a twosome in front of us and a fivesome ahead of them. It took almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. Wanting to play 18, I began to make the turn until I noticed 3 carts full of people on #1, waiting to tee off. I gave up at that point.
I paid for 18 and only played 9. Bummer.
Til next time..
Always a pleasure to golf NA Links. Staff as always was friendly and informative. The course looks fantastic!! Major props to the greens crew and those involved on preparing!! Best l have seen the course in several years!!
Early season
Course is in pretty good shape for this early in the season. Some fairways need some TLC and the greens are pretty marked up
•I recommend this course.
Anyway, weather was really comfortable.
The golf course was not crowded and was able to enjoy it slowly.
Green maintenance was good and it was early and was interesting.
An employee is kind and friendly.
Great Course
Super fast greens. Course was in pretty good shape, which given the time of year and weather conditions, that's quite a feat. Great layout and beautiful design.
Really nice greens
The condition of this course is always really good. They're changing the tees on the first hole, which look like it'll make it a little easier off the tee. The new tees on 6 make it a tough tee shot visually. I just love playing this course.
Really Fun Links Style Course.
I think we may have went golfing on the coldest possible golf day of the year, which is definitely the reason we were the only ones on the course. No one else was crazy enough to be out there on a day in the 20's with the wind whipping around 20 mph. That being said we had a BLAST! I really enjoyed this course and loved it's play ability. The wind may have caused us to lose a ball or two but we both really enjoyed the course and the people in the pro shop were amazing, nice, welcoming, and informative I would really recommend New Albany Links to anyone who truly loves golf and appreciates a links style course.
