Rocky Lakes Golf Course
About
Rocky Lakes Golf Course in Springfield is like playing two courses in one. The shorter front nine is wide-open, offering a gentle start before moving on to the more slightly more demanding, par-36 back nine. Mature trees and water hazards come into play on the back as well as the occasional bunker. It is not a difficult layout by any means, but there are a few challenges in store. Overall the golf course is very player friendly, making it best for beginners as well as junior golfers. Intermediate and more advanced players will be disappointed if they are looking for a course that will test their skills, but the affordable rates make Rocky Lakes Golf Course a good option for a quick game where you can get a little practice.

Over priced for pour conditions.
You’re better off hitting a ball around in your back yard. Fairways are over grown and awful. Whole coirs wood full of dandelions and weeds.
I lost more balls, hitting them into the open areas than I ever have playing some of the hardest courses in the state
Terrible conditions.
Terrible conditions. Especially for normal public golf prices.
Worst course ever
This course is the worst course in the area. Grass was so long on the tee boxes you could hardly see the markers. The grass in the fairways was so long you couldn’t tell the rough from the fairways. Do not waste your money on playing here, there are other courses to play that are much nicer and cheaper. Play was slow because everyone out there was trying to find their ball even if it landed in the fairway. Again avoid this course at all cost!!!!
Bad staff and bad experience overall
Staff was very incompetent. They didn't know what was going on. I played this course twice and had a bad experience both times. The clubhouse staff was rude. The only thing to do at this course is not play and go to bogeys bar and grill. The course is in bad condition compared to any other course in Springfield. Recommend anything buy rocky lakes golf course in Springfield.
High quality average course
I am going to start this review with the fact I know the owner's son because he is married to my sister, but I will be honest.
The course layout of par 71 is average for an Ohio course with back and forth holes, with three really fun hole through the woods starting with the par 5 then a 3 and 4. The only real thing lacking on this course is elevation, but it happens here in Ohio. With that being said you can tell the placement of the lakes does make this course more of a challenge hence the name.
I have played here any time of year, and it have always been in wonderful condition, and I used to have to drive by it for work in the morning an seen the greens crew hustling to get it there. They work hard to have this place looking good.
Bogey's is a great bar which gets allot of the local air force and air guard service members to stop in and have a drink. I don't typically go to a bar to watch a football game, but I have watched Ohio state show their dominance over Alabama at this location. The food isn't world class, but it is what you would want from a good public course, and the drinks are always refreshing. They can host events, and offer indoor golf for said events like graduation parties and bachelor parties.(I have seen both done great)
A little late to reply to this posting, but another point of view needs to be presented. I played this course weekly in 2020 and found the staff to be quite competent and friendly. This extends from the front desk to the guys mowing to the course owner who is always on site. These folks work their tail off to keep this local course in the best shape possible. I would suspect that you have issues with people wherever you go , and that perhaps you are the problem. The staff at Rocky Lakes are fine people. Enough said!
