Crane's Bend at Orange Lake Resort

About
Crane's Bend is one of the four golf courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee. The comprehensive club offers two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses, one of each is designed by Arnold Palmer. Crane's Bend, like the Reserve Course, is technically one of the first courses at the club though it could be considered one of the newer courses. This nine-hole layout was originally designed in 1982 but underwent a complete renovation in 2003. The name of each hole is a different species of bird, a tribute to the abundance of wildlife that can be seen throughout the course. The golf course wraps around the resort's scenic fountain lake. It is challenging but plays fast, making it perfect for a quick round.

I've played it a lot because I like it.
The course starts out like it's going to be simple on #1 and #2.. #3 surprises you. #4 may be one of the toughest 4-par hole around (and look out for the gators), and then #5 is a tougher 4-par. #6 is a give you no breaks, angled 3-par. #7 is a straight-away longer 3-par, the only hole with no water. #8 can grab you like #17 at Sawgrass. #9 is one long, tight and tough 4-par with a small, well-trapped green.
Won't Play Again
I was visiting the area and only had time to play 9 holes. The condition of the course was good but having so many par 3 holes I only used my PW and Putter which isn't much fun for me. I also felt like the pace was pushy. This is truly just a tourist course and not for me.
Very good par 3/4 track
Condition of this course was above average for time of year. Some challenging holes with strategic hazards will test the skills of most golfers. Could not beat the price for a Sunday morning.
Could be very slow
Scenery is very good. Course condition is fair. It could be a nice 90 minute golf if the pace is decent. Expect to skip one hole if you play behind some very old folks. It is not their fault; you are just unlucky that day.
Great course
The course is well kept and is beautiful. It can entertain all ability levels.
Great condition
Course is in beautiful condition. Great executive 9 hole course but still a challenge. Would definitely play it again
Great 9 hole course
Nice course if you don't want to play 18 but want to use your driver as well as work on your short game.
Great little course
This par 30 course has relatively easy holes as well as a few challenging ones. It's fun to play and a great value, especially if you play at a hot price time.
What a treat of a course!!
9 holes. Each is a different challenge. You can use every club in your bag. In extremely good condition.
Great value!
Strange & Fun
Great shape. Fun course. No 5 pars. First 3 hole short par 3's then challenge begins!
Cranes Bend Not Worth the Effort
Cranes Bend is basically a par 3 course, not very well conditioned and the pace of play was horrible. Don’t waste your time or money. The Reserve and Legends are far better golf courses
Not as easy as you think
9 holes and we played twice. The par 3s had elevated small greens so if you didn't hit them your ball often ended up in a hazard. The par 4s were a reasonable length and tight for driving. Overall the course was a good test and the greens were OK and provided an enjoyable experience.
You think it's pitch and putt...and then
My wife and I were the first folks out on a sunny weekday morning and after the first two holes I thought it was going to be wedge and putter of the day...then a nice variety of holes makes there way into the mix. With the course being empty we took the time to play a few of the holes twice. Nice conditions, nice views....good warmup to the day
