NorthStar Golf Club
About
NorthStar Golf Club measures out to a whopping 7,351 yards, which makes it one the longest golf courses in Ohio. The layout covers over 350 acres of woodlands interspersed with 21 ponds and three rambling creeks. Water is definitely a prominent presence on the course but there are also 41 sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Being such a lengthy golf course, long hitters will have a chance to shine but sharp short game skills and accuracy are also vital to getting a good score. The versatile NorthStar layout is made even more playable with five different sets of tees that accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The semi-private course is open to guests everyday and the club offers all the extra amenities of a private club including an expansive heated pool and two tennis courts.

Great track. Full of challenging holes
A course that separates itself among other public courses in the area with quality design and surroundings.
Good layout
I've been in the golf business for 20 years and have never seen such a lack of professionalism and customer service as I did today at Northstar Golf Course. When we walked into the pro-shop the guy behind the counter looked up from texting on his cell phone and rolled his eyes at us. After standing in front of him for a few moments he took a break from texting to check us in for our tee time. At no point did he ever tell us that they had aerified the greens or that they were going to be shotgunning a league on every hole during our round. Being in the golf business I understand the need to aerify the greens. What I don't understand is why you would not tell your customers when they make the tee time or when they are checking in for their tee time that you have aerified the greens 3 days earlier. And I have no clue why you would shotgun a league onto every hole without telling your open play that you were doing so and that they needed to be finished by a certain time. I think it is a shame that such a good track is being run in such a unprofessional way.
Wonderful day
Beautiful course.... very challenging holes and a great day on the golf course. A gem of a course right off 71.
Started strong but then rained out....
Not your typical course. Certain holes are very gimmicky unfortunately the day got rained out. The course has a very poor rain check policy, in that they expire at the end of the current year. That's right, not one year from issue, like most credible courses. I'll play again, but only through GolfNow, otherwise it's way overrated.
Course needs some work
This course does not provide much value. For playing after 5 on a weekend and paying $27 on GolfNow I felt like I overpaid. I've played courses in better shape for $20 after 5. The course prides itself of being a resort course but the tees and greens need some work. They are really beat up with ball marks and divots. Another alarming issue was the number of golf carts that were abandoned out on the course. When I got to 16 green I personally found out why. The cart was out of juice. I don't have a problem walking because I do a lot but seeing a bunch of abandoned carts along with a course in poor condition doesn't really appeal to most people especially when the course charges up to $50 for greens fees. There are a lot of great courses nearby like Glenross, Delaware GC, and Bent Tree if u want better value for the money.
Northstar
Course wasn't too bad. Greens were chewed up a little bit and some bare patches starting to make their way in the fairways. First time playing here. Greens were deep and narrow or narrow and deep so shot placement was key. Starter was really friendly. Wouldn't pay regular price for this course though.
love this course - but ...
Northstar is great, it's a tough course but has plenty of Tee options, well maintained, good facilities - but it's not really good value when withing 20 minutes there are many comparable courses charging half the price on-line!
So if cost isn't an issue for you pick Northstar over Bent Tree, Royal American, New Albany Links, Blackhawk, Glenross, Deer Ridge, Clover Valley or Delaware CC who all provide better value.
Long and good
From the tips, this course is very challenging. I played when it was cart path only, which made it a little more difficult, but I think this is one of the nicer courses in the Columbus area.
great risk reward course
great course but staff is substandard - forgot my sand wedge near putting green and called but they were "too busy to run it out".
Northstar is a great risk reward course.
Great course but the staff are substandard - I forgot my sand wedge near the putting greean and called but they were "too busy to run it out".
Course well maintained
Greens r fast and the rough is rough.Great Crouse!
Cart path only...gotta love it!
We played Northstar on July 12. Nice course, all facilities open. Very wet due to rain, and as a result, course was path only. Not their fault, but the paths themselves are WAY off the fairways, 75-100 yards in some cases, making carts only a bit beyond useless. 6 tee boxes allows for all skill levels....but it will play long overall. Would play again if it were 90 degree rule or cart open.
This course has great challenges for any skill set
Enjoyable! It was cart path only, but no worry, very fun and well maintained.
A Little Wet
Northstar was fantastic. We got a super deal $40 each on a Sunday! It was cart path only, so that was the only detriment (of course not the fault of the staff). The course was in great shape, very few groups were on the course so pace of play was great! We moved at a good pace, no waiting! Overall it was a great day!
Easy to book tee time, and not to busy
First time playing course. Was very easy to book tee time on line, seemed like there was availability at several times. Played late Sunday morning, and was not to busy, staggered tee times allowed ample time to play each hole without being rushed.
Challenging
I played this course for the first time this week. It is a very nice and difficult course w 6 tee boxes. So u have the option to move up but my pride wouldn't let me.
Nearly every lie was tight or buried in thick rough. I thought that was the most difficult part. If your not a good ball striker, you'll have a long day there.
Def worth playing because its nice. I've seen more value in other courses but you can deny that Northstar is a higher end public facility.
Northstar
Great track! Greens were true but a little beat up. Rest of course was incredible! I will definitely be back. Would recommend to anyone!!
The course needs all level of skill.
Overall maintenance of the course was ok except green was somewhat brown and do not know why?
Hazard was clearly identified by markers with information like 250 yards to creek which was very helpful for the visitors.
Excellent payout
Northstar was in great condition. This is an excellent layout with a challenging set of holes. The ball sits up in the fairway. The greens were very firm, difficult to spin even a wedge. The rough is very penalizing, especially around the greeens. Three of the par threes were 7 irons, but there are five sets of tees to provide some varieance. One of the better public courses in the Columbus area.
