North Course at Highlands Ridge
About
Highlands Ridge offers 36 holes of championship golf, which form the centerpiece of the upscale residential community. It's one central Florida's most popular golf destinations. The courses, the North and the South, share the same scenic landscape but they provide very different rounds. The North Course is known for its outstanding conditions. The designer, Dave Harman, modeled the course after Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand, which was recognized as the Best New International Course in 2011 by Golf Digest. The layout is not as challenging as the South Course, making it more appealing for beginners. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are some strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There is also rough along the fairways and greensides that can be particularly punishing.

Get ready
Nice lay out, abit tighter than the south. Ball placement is a most, it will help with the set up of the next shot.
One of the nicest courses in our area
Will definitely play there again. Very good value for mid-April golf. Total cost including all fees and taxes was less than $30.
One of best courses in Highlands County
Greens are large and a little hard but will soften up when summer rains start.
Watch out for hidden hazards due to course undulations.
Over all - a pleasure to play.
spud pei
Excellent, one of the best conditioned courses we played during our stay.
enjoyable but greens a bit bumpy
Played in a shotgun start to make up a 4 some so got a good deal. Course is enjoyable with a good variation of holes. Some wide open with no trees but water to some tree lined fairly tight fairways and plenty of doglegs. So a good Florida course. However the greens were a bit bumpy and not up to the standard of others we played but were ok. I play off 8 and wife off 21 and we both enjoyed it
great customer service
Greens were a little spotty, but otherwise in good shape. Fairways in great shape and overall condition of course was good.
Has a nice upscale quality.
One of the best courses for the money that I have played in the area. The course was very well maintained throughout and the staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend playing this course for anyone visiting the area.
always a good day at this track.
Staff were very accommodating. Fairways were in great shape . Greens not 100% but run very true and stimped up nicely. Well worth the trip anytime. Thanks for a great day.
Awesome course
Beautiful challenging course with fairways and greens much like the nicer Michigan courses!
Great Mid-State Track
Staff was fantastic. Lee went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. Apparently some management has changed and they are revamping some things. I mention this first since I look at the whole experience not just the course. The course has a great layout. Fair but challenging. Some greens were a bit bumpy but overall course was in great shape.
Worth the trek
Too bad it is such a long trip from Orlando or we would play here more often. The North course is rolling terrain and nicely interesting.
Highland Ridge North Slow Play
We were a twosome and requested to be placed in a foursome,
The starter set of a twosome then a foursome the a twosome (us) followed by another twosome, no ranger was in sight to organise the chaos, The foursome
declined to let us play through so we could hook up with the two players in front. result nearly 5 hrs. On the course. When we booked it said two Players Assumed a foursome, is incorrect ??
very nice layout well maintained,
Very long, multiple tea boxes, holes separated from each other, wide open fairways, no rough, greens have some tilt, must keep the ball below the hole. played in the late afternoon, pace of play was quick three and a half hours.
wonderful course, many terrific golf holes, completely enjoyed my round.
Worth locating
To me, the course is in a very remote area, difficult to find; however, staff gave me excellent directions, and I found the course. It was well worth what I paid to play. I found the course in excellent condition, challenging, food was good, and the staff was outstanding. If it were a bit closer to me, I would play it very often. Very nice, enjoyable course.
New owners will help
Course needs an infusion of cash, fairways need work and the greens were just ok for a facility like this. Hopefully new owners will supply this. We enjoyed our day ,staff were very friendly and the price was right its not a $40-$50 course at present.
Very Enjoyable
This course has a nice layout , it has some challenges but is not overly difficult. Booked on Golfnow great price, well worth the 45 min drive from Winter Haven. Will definitely play it again.
Nice rolling terrain.
This course is a must play. Greens are coming back nicely, general course conditioning is thought to be very good. Good mix of tight and open areas that require good shot making abilities, and some open areas that allow you to be more aggressive off the tee.
I'll be back!
Good course/layout. Condition was good, greens were a little slow but rolled true. I need to play it again. Several of the holes I was surprised with what/where the hazards were. I got the the HOT DEAL for $15 well worth it. They have two courses North and the South, the North is the better one to play.
Very nice course with a great layout
I spent the afternoon playing a very nice course. The course was well maintained. The staff here were very helpful. We were allowed to start the back nine, as the front had several golfers ahead, allowing us a faster pace of play. I would recommend you to try this course out!
