Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Mainly wide open golf
Some trees, creeks and ponds to add challenge to your tee shots but all-in-all a very nice layout course. I think I must commend on the condition of the greens. They are very well-maintained! Must try!
Clearwater Country Club
Flat and some long straight holes. Fairways need improvement. Greens are wonderful. I would play again.
Good Greens and Tees
The greens, although sloping, are in great condition and true. The tees are well maintained. Perhaps due to the lack of rain, the fairways were not at he same level as the greens and tees. The staff was super...especially the starter, Paul.
Course was in rough shape - maybe because it has been so dry. Greens were ok though. Staff was amazing - from clubhouse to starter to bartenter. They were attentive and friendly and made it a positive experience.
Fast play but poor condition
The greens were fine and the pace of play was really good but the traps were rock hard and the fairways were poor. Most of the tee boxes were just fair.
Nice old style layout but needs work
Nice staff ...greens nice, but the rest of the course is in terrible shape. I liked the layout but I wouldn't play it again, until they clean it up
OK, fairways need work
I hadn't played here in some time as course conditions had not been great. I was surprised on this recent visit that the greens were pretty darn good, as were the bunkers and tee boxes. The fairways, however, could use some fertilizer and strong weed remover!
Pace of play, teeing off before 8 am, was really good, finished in less than 3.5 hrs, with the group behind us asking us to speed up!
Not a very good course
I expected a better course for the money. Layout was bad. All the holes seemed like they were on top of each other. The fairways had bare spots every where. The pace was very slow and there was a ranger that told groups to speed up and in turn they slowed down and were at least 2 holes behind and didn’t care about speeding up.
The ranger apologized but it was after we finished and told us he should have made them speed up or asked them to leave.
I will never play the cours again. We felt like we could have been hit at anytime because most of the holes come together with screens to block players from getting hit.
Florida course with no drinking water 🤡
Greens were good and course was in ok shape for the rain lately. Unforgivable for them to not have any beverage cart in the afternoon in addition to not having a single drinking fountain/cooler/etc. on course or at the turn! Will not be going back anytime soon
First time in Florida
The course was in great shape . Greens were fantastic will be back again.
Course in great condition
I walked the course on a Saturday morning. Finished the round as a foursome (2 walkers, 2 cart) in just shy of four hours. At the price range ($40 walking, $55 cart) the course was in the best condition of any I’ve played in the area. Bunkers were immaculate and like hitting out of a beach. Tee boxes and greens were in fantastic shape. Course isn’t particularly interesting in terms of layout (just a typical down and back type layout), but still well worth it for the conditions.
Tight course
The course and greens were in pretty good shape. It’s a tight course, but the pace was good.
Greens and tee boxes = GREAT. Fairways = a bit brown and thin
Played an early morning, mid-May round at CCC. They aerated the greens about 2.5 weeks ago and some of the greens on the front 9 were still healing, but the back 9 greens were rolling great. They finally spent some time contouring their bunkers - more sandy, better defined, looked much better than when I last played CCC in October last year. And my ball only found two bunkers all day, but both felt like you were at the beach. Tee boxes in pretty good shape as well. Not surprised considering the relatively dry spring months we've had here that the fairways were a bit brown and thin. Overall, the course played better than I had expected and improved course conditions from October '22.
Good Value
First time at CCC. Greens had been recently plugged and sanded so difficult to rate them. Balance of the course was in average shape and was a good value for the cost - $36 for 18 and a cart.
