Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Average Florida Public Course

I played in the afternoon and it was pretty wide open. They are fixing a few tee boxes so some holes you will tee off farther up. This course is in average condition for a public golf course in this area. You can only expect so much for what your paying. Many of the holes are straight tee to green. Not a lot of water hazards. A few holes you have to tee off with less than driver or 3 wood to stay out of water hazard. This was my first time playing here and it wasn't that bad for a city ran course. All staff I came in contact with was friendly. Definitely one of the easier 18 hole courses I've played in the area.

They are doing a nice job keeping the course in good shape. As good as any public course in the county.

Stay Away

Who ever is managing this place has no idea what they're doing. The Rangers out there are making fun of the guy making all the decisions. They're having to enforce rules that make absolutely no sense and then blame it all on him. Can't remember his name maybe Mark or Greg or something like that....Aside from that the condition of the course is below average. Used to play here all the time but due to the current management I'll never play here again. Will be a big advocate against this facility as well.

Short, Tight Course

If you like old courses, you'll like CCC. Course Is a good shape considering the weather, the sand traps or another story. They either need to fill them in or add about 12 in more sand.

Course is in rough shape. About the only positive was the greens, which were very good. A lot of the fairways seemed to be mostly crab grass or bare dirt, tee boxes either beat up or being redone. I've played here before, but it's the roughest I've seen; it's been a couple of months since and it'll probably be a few more before I try again.

Great shape, slower greens

It's obvious they've done improvments to this course with more on the way. The course is in great shape; however, the greens were slow. I'm sure they'll speed up after they've healed from being aerated. I'll be back!

Not too bad of a course. Was some slow play but it’s to be expected when it’s a foursome in front of you, and a twosome. Most of the tee boxes were decent; had some crabgrass on the fairways on some holes. Layout on some of the holes were confusing at how close they were, but I was able to navigate because of the group in front of me(much appreciated). Overall it’s not bad for $30-$40 bucks. When I’m back in town I will play again.

Lots of trees and straight. Red Tees are way up so it makes it challenging and fair competition.

fairways are in pretty bad shape. Greens were generally well kept. Pace was fairly slow on the front 9 but picked up a bit on back 9.

Nice surprise

I played this course last on 4/5 and they’ve done a great job with the course making it even better. Plenty of grass from tee to green, however, the greens were a little slow, possibly in an effort to keep them from burning up. I’ll play here again soon.

A Good Local Muny

A good value for $35-40, greens are in great shape but tee boxes and fairways are a bit worn. Good pace of play and pleasant guests…

Pretty miserable

had back-to-back 4 man tee times sunday morning around 10am. first tee was so backed up, poor communication from the starter where we had to tell other guests what timeslots we had because there were literally 10 carts on the first box (no exaggeration). played the first two holes in 45 minutes. holes 4-7 very congested, multiple Fore calls throughout the day because of poor layout. i feel bad for the people who live close to the course because the roads are simply not safe to drive on. the club needs to invest in more netting to stop balls from going out of bounds. the course is in rough condition, very patchy and not well kept. would not play here again. do not recommend. we ended up playing two 4 man scrambles and were still waiting on the group in front of us. LOL
