Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

slow play
a very slow, almost 5hr round round. Having a short 2nd hole does not allow for the course to open up. There were multiple groups on the 2nd tee. Some holes are too close together, standing on a tee box while the group behind is getting too close with their approach shots.
Nice course but over-priced
Good location if you are on the peninsula. A little over-priced for the quality of the course. Greens were fast but a little bumpy, not real smooth. Definitely not worth $75
Course was closed
Course was closed with no notifications so we drove to the property and were turned away. Also not had the refund so far
Course conditions
This public course see a lot of rounds of golf and the fairways and greens show it. Reasonably priced for the condition of the course.
Decent track
A pretty solid public course. Greens were on the smaller side and fast.
A non descript layout. Traps and boxes were fine. We played blue tees at 6200+. Like most courses now, make sure you have a range finder.
Needs some help
Greens were like a rock . A little water would have helped things out. Cart are new . No GPS.
Good shape
Was here a year or two ago and it was diseased and lots of work being done. Glad to see it’s back to a good playable condition!
Incredible improvements!!!
I have played this course many many times. Female golfer, single-digit hcp. I have played the worst and some of the best. New to me was they flipped the 9’s. 1 is 10 and 10 is 1. I love it. As for the course conditions…. fairways are green!! Greens are excellent (folks please fix your divots; my rule, fix mine and one other). Back nine greens aerated but glad to see them in such great condition. Tee boxes are even green and growing! New carts!! Staff has always been friendly. Really happy for CCC and hoping these conditions continue. So excited to be playing here….again!! 5/5 for this golfer!
Not bad first time
I play weekly back home. This was a good course but as expected. Courses here should have their ammenities in order. Small things count. Driving range was average. Putting green was better except the obstruction in the middle of it. The course was nice. I would play here again. I am an 11.9 Index so it is a average test from the white tees.
Put on the Brakes
The pace of the front nine was super and finished in two hours! On the turn, course was backed up because the course let groups start on the back! At a multi/hole junction I noticed that a fivesome was holding up five groups! The only comment by the ranger was,”at least they are on the 18th hole.”
I enjoy these older courses but it appears that the fairways were heavily watered causing some balls to plug and greatly reduce distance! Excellent greens!
