Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Anti GolfNow Remarks
I was totally embarrassed by the course staff's comments. I was with 2 friends and important clients, I had made tee times for. The first comment was from the starter, who came up to the green we were practicing on, asked what time we teed off. I told him the time and added I made wit through GolfNow. He replied, the course doesn't like GolfNow subscribers and the pro-shop staff will make us wait until the last minute before allowing us to pay, get a cart and fifteens minutes to make it to the tee box. We waited at the desk for over a half an hour and not one golfer had a tee time during that period. At 11:20 we paid, rushed to get a cart, out to the parking lot, grabbed our bags and drove quickly to the first tee box and with no time to get prepared mentally. You won't find us back there...ever.
Another day at Chi Chi's
I love Chi Chi"s course; but more often than not we run into an issue with slow play. This time, we had a three some in front of our four some and we waited every hole for nine holes. Someone behind us must have called the club house because they came out and had them let some groups through after 9 holes. Still finished in about 4 hr.
Very pleasant round!
I last played this course 12-15 years ago. My fiancé had never played it before. Overall, an excellent course. Not the longest in terms of yardage, but the challenges of the holes don't disappoint. The pace of play was generally good with the exception of the 8th hole, a par 3, where we waited 10-15 minutes. (No one we saw hit the green with their tee shot. There's a pond on the left.) The staff was friendly and helpful. The lunch counter is quite limited, though. The washrooms in the pro shop are dated. But I look forward to returning on my next visit to the area in about a month.
Good Course
Played ChiChi two weeks ago and the greens were perfect. So we were disappointed to find that the greens needed cutting and were not in as good condition. It was also a very windy day so between the two problems it was not an easy day of golf. Always play 18 holes and know the course fairly well.
Not Worth the money or time
Mushy, wet around the greens. Bad greens that need to be trimmed. Bunkers that are as hard as ciment and some that have a foot of soft sand. Neglected and would not recommend it to anyone.
Good Course
The pace of play is something else to be desired. Long waits at every hole in fact it took 1 hour to play #10 and 11. Fairways and greens in good shape
A Round at Chichi s
Turned up to play joined up with another person, had a very enjoyable round.Staff very friendly, course in excellent condition.
Small, tight, slow
This is a typical Florida course, but definitely short and tight. The layout tends to bunch up people both times I've played here and the pace can seem slow, but I was still able to finish in just over 4 hours. Greens were true, course was overall in great shape.
Enjoyed our round
Overall, we enjoyed our round at Chi Chi's very much. There are sometimes places in the fairways and rough where there is mud, which makes it tricky to navigate, and your ball could get easily plugged, particularly on Hole #1. Mostly, though, the course is very nice.
Great course
The course was a little damp in the morning but held together great. Would come back and play again.
Staff needs to be transparent - students on course yes or no!
We were scheduled to play 18 holes with beautiful weather. We weren't told students were on the course, the first two holes took us at least 45 minutes. Staff must advise players the status of the course!
Excellent Condition
Chi Chi's is always in Great Condition! Beautiful Course... The Staff are kind, welcoming & knowledgable in reference to the Course or Merchandise. Excited to play there again, soon!
Thank you!

Very interesting back nine
fun course---well worth the money----very accesable for local in the Clearwater area.
what a great time!
The weather was great, the staff couldn't be any better!!! The course was in great shape. We are going next week also!! Tks
Short but challenging holes
Nice round on Mothers Day. Very good value. Greens were heavily aerated, that was our only issue, otherwise very nice.
Nice course, plays short
Nice course. Moderately challlenging. Greens where aerated....which was disappointing. Would definitely play again.
A smal but interesting course - very friendly staff
A good course on which to practice your golf skills. Greens played truer and faster than their appearance suggested. Good value for money - staff encouraged us to come back again, and I think we will.
Terrain
Terrain étroit avec beaucoup de trappes de sable ,se joue tres vite 3heures pour une 18 ,
A partir de midi plus tranquille laisse partir un demi heure avant ,
Fun course, great for scoring yet still challenging.
Course starts out on a par 5 which backs up #1 quite a bit and slows down the pace of play. However, if you are a patient golfer, which you should be, then you'll enjoy the course. A lot of holes that are good for scoring. There's a third party driving range across the street that opens at 830am. There's also a netted area to warm up, chipping area and putting green. Staff was great and the facility is in good shape. If you're thinking about playing here then I would say definitely give it a try.
