Tarpon Woods Golf Club

From the first time I played this course approximately one and a half years ago they have made tremendous improvements and it will only get better. They recently overseeded the greens and the fairways which will greatly improve the course. I look forward to playing this course several times in the future and can't wait to see the course once the improvements take hold

The course is very good for practicing and I enjoyed the layout and was able to play at my own pace and moved the ball around the greens to get decent putts to make the game acceptable I had a small issue with staff that was no where and left me standing in the clubhouse for more than 25 minutes before playing and than after playing for another 20 minutes I understand one person doing many jobs but on the ninth hole the staff member had time to drive out on the course and lecture me about the “rules” of not driving the cart within 50 feet of the greens I apologized said I didn’t know and the cart was about 50 feet away and in the rough no a problem just silly overreaction

The greens aren’t in best condition but overall very playable The staff is very friendly and are clearly trying to bring it back. It’s BYOB and a very good layout. 100% worth the money and it’s only getting better from what I can tell

I feel like this course is getting a bad rap. Are the greens perfect no the fairways are great. The Ruf is pretty thick. The tee boxes were decent.

When I think about the other local courses in the area, it’s not far off from them with a much more fun layout. I definitely will be back and I hope a lot of of you give this course a try.

I wasn’t necessarily there to work on putting anyway, so the greens didn’t bother me

Yes the tee boxes fairways greens and sand traps all need work but other courses I’ve played in the area are all in the same boat. The courses here in Florida all have the same problems and it’s all tied to the trees (especially the oaks) being completely overgrown and out of control. Not sure what the thinking was planting and not maintaining these trees but if this problem was corrected it would lead to possibly resolving some of the other issues. Overall it’s a good value for the amount charged and best of all it’s a great walking course.

Always working to improve this course and it has gotten much better over the last 6 months. Grass on the fairways greens are mostly pretty good A few of them are bad sand traps need to be redone but it's a great course lots of fun and if you can find a course in this kind of shape for that kind of price go for it.

Fairways were perfect. Greens are 90% perfect. They have been doing a lot of work and it’s showing. I’ll take this value anytime

Of course needs some work, the sand traps aren't playable. But the fairways have grass in them the greens are relatively good a few bad spots here and there. I like the layout. And for the price being charged it's a great course to play. If you want a better course in great shape, pay another $40 and go play somewhere else

Staff was friendly about the best thing I can say about the place greens and tee boxes were 50% dirt 50% grass everything is super overgrown and out dated spend the extra $10 and play a different course

Bad weather was predicted and we were the only ones there. But as it turns out, we sat out the rain for only 5 minutes. Yeah some of the greens could use some work, but we enjoyed going at our own pace and looking at the beautiful scenery - saw so many different birds can’t list them all. Guy at the pro shop was so friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

Haven't played here for awhile, but I always liked the layout, staff, and the wildlife. The course wasn't in the best of shape, but it was significantly better than the last time I played here. Most of the sand traps were in terrible shape, but I just played it like a hazard! I believe they are trying to get the course back to what it once was, and I will be back to try to support their efforts.

I have been golfing at Tarpon Woods golf course for about the past five years. I’ve seen it during its glory days and I’ve seen it at its worst, which unfortunately has been recent. However, I am happy to say the course is looking much better. During my time on the course recently, the tee boxes are in much better shape, instead of them being mounds of dirt with little small pockets of grass. There are actual fairways that have more grass than they do pockets of dirt, and also the greens while they are not perfect right now and there are still some that have burnt out spots. You can tell that the grounds maintenance team is working on reviving them and getting them back into Moore playable condition. So while the course is not in the best condition, it has certainly improved over what it was at the beginning of the year and especially during the early part of the summer. I highly recommend players getting out on this course. It’s a great championship layout, it is challenging and it will challenge multiple parts of your game and will also help you train with every club in your bag.

Manage your expectations, and just know the course is not at its absolute best right now but it is FAR better than it has been in the year.

It's not good, but it's playable. Everything needs help and they're trying. 15-30$ to golf( i paid 8$) A driving range is 15$ a bucket. What would you rather do? It's going to take time but I would love to see this course come back to life. Great layout with 90 degree dog legs. My expectations were 0-10. I was surprised in a good way. Again it has multiple problems but for the price I'll be going back and using it as my practice course. If your a local who remembers what it looked like a year or 2 ago, it's getting better, and give it shot. I want to support this course.

Overall just a 3/5 course, got my tee time for $18, pace of play is great, you can play at your own pace and basically have the course for yourself, which isnt shocking based on course conditions, all greens have dead, black patches and move like carpet. On the bright side the staff is really friendly and you get exactly what you pay for, cant really beat a <20 tee time

The course is very long says 6818 but we measured 7400 yds pro course if the get a gounds keeper .Greens suck no grass
