The Lakes Golf Club

This might just be the worst golf course in Florida. Weeds, weeds, weeds everywhere. If it was put in playing conditions it might be worth playing.

Fairways were rough. Difficult to get a clean shot off of them.

Not much grass on the fairways. Found it hard to get the ball in the air. Greens for the most part were okay. T-boxes were terrible.

Staff is friendly and accomodating. Fairways good, T- boxes need some work.

An executive style golf course that could be half decent if they just put some effort into maintenance. Most greens were 1/2 dead, not much grass mostly weed and dirt. If they don’t want to maintain it as a golf course they should close down. It was a terrible and very disappointing experience

Had a great team, super friendly staff and course conditions were great. Lot of water hence the name and small par 3 course throughout so pace of play was easy. Will return 😊

Always enjoyed playing this course except this time. The greens were mostly brown or had a sandy overlay. Finding grass on fairways was hit and miss. I often had to put my ball on a weed to have some semblance of grass.

Play this course a few times a year and this was by far the worst I ever saw it. I really hope they save it because it is a fun course with some nice holes.

We've been playing the course the last 2 years and love the layout. It pains me to see the course conditions steadily decline. The rest of my foursome is becoming more reluctant to play out here as it is a bit of a drive from Tavares and the conditions are getting worse.

Greens were in horrible shape. Like putting on a parking lot surface

I have played golf for over 40 years in many states and different countries and this is by far the worst golf course I have ever played. On top of that they charged a premium rate. The course was completely weeds, the greens were missing major parts of putt able grass and the tee boxes were bare sand or mud. I could not find one sprinkler head on the course and there was no evidence of them using weed control. The owners should be ashamed to even charge for playing this thing they call a golf course. Do not go here ever. This was our first time and will be our last. I would have given zero stars if the App would let me.

The course was in fairly good condition. As one would expect, you get what you deserve if you aren't in the fairway. Roughs were exactly that "rough", sand traps could use some fresh trap sand and not playbox sand. I golfed this course twice in 4 days while on vacation. Worth the money, if you are only paying $30-$40 don't expect a $100 course. Staff very friendly and added value to deal.

The back nine greens are uncuttable too many bare spots and bumpy. Front greens somewhat better condition but far from ideal.
