The Club at Eaglebrooke
About
Eaglebrooke, located in Lakeland -- halfway between Orlando and Tampa, is considered one of the premier golf courses in Florida. Its classic links-style design with over 100 feet of elevation change is unique in this part of the state. Natural lakes, abundant with wildlife, can come into play on eleven of the holes creating both spectacular scenery and challenging golf shots. To increase the challenge, there are six sets of tees on each hole. The "seniors" tees were customed designed for the course by architect Ron Garl. Garl requested Senior Golf Magazine to survey seniors for optimal playing preferences and then included these requests in the course design. The atmosphere is first class and the course features bag pick-up at your car. Eaglebrooke was the first course in the US to use Greg Norman's GN 1 grass, the fastest growing and greenest grass available.

Virginia Golfer
Enjoyable round. A little pricey but worth it. Very friendly staff, good condition
Best Accessible Course In Lakeland
Perfect weather, good company, and although it was a holiday the pace of play was decent, 4 hr 20 min. round, not terrible if a tad slow. Course is in very good condition with fairly quick greens. Always enjoy playing Eagblebrooke..
Slow golfing
Course was in excellent shape and greens were outstanding. The only complaint is that there was no Marshall and pace of play was very slow. It took over 5 hours to play 18 and on a 6000 + course, there is no reason for this. We were waiting on every shot after the first three holes.
Amazing layout
This is one of the better layouts I’ve played in Florida. Just excellent. Holes- not a bad joke on the course. Greens were good- prob 10 speed. Fairways were solid- not supper lush but we’re over seeded and decent. For $60 was a great value. I’d pay up to $85- was a bit of a drive for me 1 hr 20 min but ok.
Nice course
Nice course good condition.
Last 2 holes perhaps overly difficult
Restaurant closed early.
All in all nice place pace of play could do with improvement but I guess this is America so no shock
Bit pricey but I guess at this time of year everywhere has gone crazy.
Very busy day
We have played this wonderful course before and there has never been any pace issues. There sure was today. We had a 2:30 tee off and should have been able to get the round in but unfortunately we ended up finishing after 15 due to the slow pace of play. The marshal was around on the first 3 or 4 holes but then never seen again.
Course was still in excellent condition and the traps were also in good shape.
Nice
Great course, awesome staff. Driving range was a bit beat up but the course was fine. I'll plan to play it again
Great Golf Course
This is a great course, with some spectacular water holes. It is challenging but fair and a treat to play.
Great escape!
I live in East Tampa (Riverview) and in “snowbird” season you have to get off the beaten path. This 45 minute drive is worthwhile year-round. I played Eaglebrooke twice in a week (b/c 1st trip was so good). 1st trip I got out solo and didn’t see a soul until I ran into a 3-some on 14. 2nd trip we got paired but had no waiting, and let 1 group of real ringers thru. Unique and fun layout w/ a lot of challenge but plenty of scoring opps. Good bit of water, varying bunkers, “fun” hazards like fairway palms and “roller” lies. As a “digger” I love the GN Zoysia, big and clean divots… conditions have been excellent. Cherry on top, incredibly friendly, from clubhouse to starter and back. Not always the case when you pull up to semi-private as the GolfNow discount guy. I’d prefer to keep this gem to myself but the course and crew deserve a shoutout. From Tampa or Orlando, worth the trip.
Best of the Best
Play Eaglebrooke as often as possible, always a pleasure, great challenge and course in phenomenal shape.
