Outstanding Municipal 27 Hole Golf Course in Lakeland FL
Beautiful layout of 27 Holes in Lakeland FL. Great Friendly Staff at Payment / Check-in counter, Starters Gazebo and the Rangers insure play is consistently progressing properly . There are three courses A, B & C of nine holes each, your starter will tell you which 18 holes (A, B or C) layout you will play. The fairways are in Excellent condition with rough cuts, the Greens are lush and run true as golf play just resumed two weeks ago due to the COVID-19 virus. Most players utilize Golf Carts however walking pull carts are permitted. Will definitely Play again and again!
You get what you it for
For starters, and I literally mean the starter, must have been passed over when they were giving out personalities! He’s one of those guys you just want to go off on! The course is a city track that normally is in horrible condition but lately has been in pretty decent shape. The locals that play here however, think it’s Torrey Pines or TPC Sawgrass because of their pretentious attitudes. Yet they show iup in cargo shorts and tee shirts that are untucked and hats turned around backwards. Golf is a traditional sport for ladies and gentlemen so we should wear the proper attire and wear it correctly! After the round is a bar and grill...1916, that’s fabulous. Again, for $25, it’s worth dealing with the people if you’re as serious about golf as I am.
We are so sorry for your negative experience at CHGC. I will address the issue with the starter. We know that we are not Torrey Pines/TPC Sawgrass, but we are proud of GHGC and it's history. We are a municipal facility where folks can wear cargo shorts and a golf hat frontwards or backwards. We want the game to be fun for folks and bring new golfers into the game to keep it growing. I have had many folks that were first time visitors come into my office and tell me how welcomed they felt here at CHGC. They say that CHGC reminds them of their golf course at home. Saving the Heights
Course was in really good shape. A few greens had a couple bad spots here and there, but overall greens were in pretty good shape. Fairways were excellent.
Had a 4-some in front of us that killed our pace of play and wouldn’t let us through for the 1st 9 holes.
But overall great value. Definitely would recommend to play.

Played here because other reviews had mentioned it was in great shape. It was in ok shape, most of the greens were pretty bare and sandy. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape, rough was actually rough and good shape. The course has 3 nines, not sure how they send people off but I went off A, played in one hour and when I made the turn to C there was a group on the tee and one in the fairway both just starting their round. Waited every hole and took 2 hours so was kinda annoyed. Other than that it was well worth the $20.
Thank you for the feedback. Tee times run from 7:30am to 9:30am and 11:30am to 1:30pm. We have to run it this way for folks making the turns. What happens sometimes if folks make the turn to fast they run into tee times booked on that other 9 holes. We had done some topdressing during that period. Best condition ever
Best condition ever. I have been playing here now for about seven years. But after being closed due to the virus, they continued to work on the course for a month and it is in the best shape it has ever been in. Top-notch people running this course and I can easily recommend this course to anyone.

One of my favorites
I really enjoy golfing this course we played C and B. The fairways and greens were in good condition. The staff is always very friendly. We appreciate the starters concern for social distancing by not teaming us with a few young men. Thank you!

Course in Great Shape!!!
I played this course on 05-02-2020 for the first time. The course has been closed the previous five weeks, and during that time the grounds keeping staff has done an amazing job maintaining the course. The course was in GREAT shape (from the tee boxes to the greens). I will definitely be playing this course again in the near future (especially for their current prices of $21.00-$26.00).

Best I have seen it.
Fairways the best I have seen at Cleveland Heights, some grass under the ball. Greens and tee boxes in great shape. Good job.

Pace of play
There were a group of 5 men on front of us andwe were a twosome on the c course. They wouldn't let us play through. Very rude about it too.

Practice yor putting first greens are fast and smooth.
