3rd hole, par-4, 363 yards, blue tees: Perhaps the signature hole and the #1 index, this hole’s green is amply defended by water. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/22/2025

8th hole, par-4, 277: Playing uphill from tee to green, this hole puts up a stern defense against being driven. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/22/2025

11th hole, 85: A hole of average difficulty, this par-3 hole supplies a stunning view into the distance. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/22/2025

Eighteen, a short par-4 of 328, is a fine drive-and-pitch finisher. The fairway is rumpled, and reminds me of some closing British holes I’ve played. . Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/22/2025

Great course perfect day Photo submitted by SHASHI60 on 02/05/2019
Pleasantly surprised and will return
Read numerous reviews and got impression that course would be fun to play. Totally agree that the owners are working hard and spending money to improve the course with minimal disruption of play. First green temporary green but actual 1st green looks to be close to opening - all other greens in great shape and rolling smooth and reasonably fast - several areas on a few holes being sodded but really didn’t impact the playability of the hole - could use a starter or pro shop should be a big more proactive in pairing up players - got to first tee and two singles went out back to back at a 11:15am tee time - they did pair up eventually but nevertheless it shouldn’t have started that way - pace of play was good even with waiting a bit we finished in about 4 hrs and 20 minutes or so - within a few months this will be a go to course in Lakeland area for excellent value, great conditions and caring management - first time we played here but will definitely drive the 35 to 45 minutes or so from Orange Lake/Championsgate area to play here again during this stay and future stays and will recommend it to anyone who wants a reasonably priced course in good condition especially the greens compared to some higher priced options nearby - new owners should be commended for the effort and quality of improvements
Value/ New Ownership
Course was in great condition. Pace of play was only affected by tough 3/4/5 holes that demand precision shot making that slowed pace through this loop. Great value for the money! New ownership group infesting a lot of money into the course that should only make it better in the future. Don’t hesitate booking in promise you will enjoy and it will challenge your shot making abilities.
Conditions
Under new management and they have really made the course nice! Compared to just a year ago, it’s night and day difference. Looking into membership options now that the course is in great condition for a reasonable public course
Lot of construction going on
New ownership, lots of construction not just around the clubhouse but actual holes have a lot of things going on with some temporary greens and stuff like that. Could be a very interesting course once it's straightened out.
Diamond in Rough
New ownership is making great improvements. Still a lot of work going on, fixing cart paths, fixing tee boxes, creating a chipping green, lots of fairway repair and green repair. With that being said the course is great! It really makes you think. Lots of rolling hills. Very happy with where this place is heading. Will be back again!
Good Time
Course overall was in good condition. Greens rolled true & were average speed. Traps were in fair condition. The first hole was using a temporary green which was non puttable
Good day
Course in good shape considering the damage from the hurricane
Great Course
The course has some great holes, expect to be challenged, no matter what your handicap is. The course is under new management and they are repairing damage from the hurricanes and doing a very good job. Great new golfing program being offered. A must play in Lakeland.
Renovations
Working on cart patches, sodding areas on the front nine side but did not impact play. Overall looks like they are putting money into course to make it better. Course condition was very good for this time of year.
Winter golf
1st time playing since new owners took over
Already seeing improvements to course and property, always enjoyed playing here but lately it was starting to get a little tired with the new owners it looks like it’s going to be a great place to enjoy and play again
Awsome
So glad the course is back to normal. The course is still under repair but close to being done
An underrated gem
Eaglebrooke is the more highly regarded course in the area but this is a close second and at a much better price. The greens are excellent. Smooth and fast. It’s a challenging layout that has you using most of your bag. Continuing to make improvements as well.
Good day
Greens were average speed but roll true & very large. Fairways has very good grass & mowed well. Lots of rolling hills, streams & a few blind shots. All & all a really nice course. Excited to play it again
Reopening of the front nine under new management
Hole one was a temporary one and was terrible. Had a new bridge on three. The rest of course was in good condition. The greens were fast. Something new was a cart girl riding around, a nice touch. A great course once one is back in shape .
Still recovering...
I don't regularly play a lot of courses in Lakeland, so, I don't know if this was true for several, or if it was specific to the rolling terrain on this course in that area,,,but this course had a lot of damage from the last hurricane and is still replacing a lot of washed out areas. I know we're in the middle of skewer the snowbirds season in Central Florida, but this course in this condition should not have been a near $50 round.
The staff was nice, from the Pro Shop to the grill, and it's only the second time in a few years I've seen a beverage cart on a course not on a weekend, so...those are positives.
I signed up as a single...got to the teebox and there were three younger guys standing on the Blue tees waiting to hit. They had the tee time before me, so I watched and figured perhaps some other people would show up for my tee time (I should have asked at the Pro Shop). The three of them proceeded to demonstrate that none of them belonged on the Blue tees (okay, maybe it's just the first hole).
There was a group in front of them, so, nowhere to go, but that didn't make watching them taking mulligans on several holes and repeatedly hitting balls OB any easier to watch. Finally, on the eighth hole, a twosome caught up to me, and I asked if they would like to join which they did. At the turn, the twosome ducked into the clubhouse to pick up beverages to allow the group ahead to get off the 10th tee box. I decided to see if the tee box on the front was open and proceeded to play the front nine again. I only went through one group on the fourth hole on the second nine, and was finished with 18 in 3:15 (so I don't think the three in front of me the first trip through was really playing slow, but it sure felt that way...the perils of being a single).
The course is a challenging layout, especially if you fade the ball. At least four of the holes favor a draw on the approach. Unlike a lot of Florida courses, there is considerable slope to the course (mostly side to side). If it had been dry (which might have been true if they weren't watering so heavily trying to get the new sod to take) some of the slopes could have really limited safe lines of play.
I will probably come back here in the summer when they are offering deals, and try it again. Maybe I will get to see the back nine next time.
Nice Course
Staff was great. Play was a bit slow do to time of year.
