The Sanctuary Golf Course at Pennbrooke Fairways

About
Situated less than an hour from Orlando, Pennbrooke Fairways in Leesburg is one of the top spots for golf in Lake County, Florida. There are three different nines available, the executive Meadow and Oaks Courses, and the Sanctuary nine, a regulation course. Like the Oaks and Meadow nines, the Sanctuary has five different sets of tees available. There are two par-5 holes that will please long hitters and they also present some of the toughest challenges. The first par 5 you'll encounter narrows severely at the landing area, forcing you to choose between a safe layup and an ambitious drive. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also ponds and marshland that come into play. All three of the par-3 holes bring water into play. Pennbrooke Fairways' Sanctuary golf course doesn't have the same walkability the others have due to the 500-foot bridge that spans a protected wildlife area and swamp.

prima
Sanctuari course was alles erg goed. -vooral gezien de hurrican die ook hier heeft gewoed.-
Oacks was na de Sanctuari leuk voor de beginnende speler met par 3 en 4's.
De banen waren allemaal in een prima conditie -zowel de fairways alsmede de greens.
Need a Good Deal to play Here
It's a must to get a Good Deal from Golfnow or Others because the Regular Rate is terrible! Too high Priced for the Course/s .. 2 short nine's and 1 regulation nine. Greens were not good ... perhaps due to growing season just starting?? Bar and Grill closed at 2 PM!! Too Bad so Sad!! Recommend this course .... ONLY with a DEAL .. a Price Reduction!
good course
I like this course but most of the time it is too pricey. caught a hot deal on golf now.
3 different 9's 2 executive and a Par 35
These courses are short but you still have to put the ball in the hole. On this day i played each course 3 times 81 holes believe it was Easter Sunday....I visit and play this course each year when in town. You can get a lot of birdies here but will be forced to other scores based on different ways to play each hole Trust Me..Tees .fairways and greens were in great shape...
Very Good
The course was in great shape. Better than most I've golfed at. The only thing is that it's short. They have 3 courses that are all 9 holes. The 2 they gave us was a par 30 and a par 35. Great for short game practice.
Course great
The course was in good shape but their clubhouse is closed on saturdays so you couldn't get a cocktail or anything after golf!!! That sucks
The coarse was in great shape..the staff very friendly..would play again in a heart beat..
Ski Pro
The front nine was as expected kind of short. Some challenges and some fun. The back nine had some length and tee shots required good placement if you played the right tee.
Greens and tee boxes in great shape considering, fairways were somewhat dry, but it hasn't rained in a long time.
Would go play again.
very good
course was in very good shape despite lack of rain
FIRST TIME
The greens were great, fairways were better than most of the parched, thirsty fairways in FL this time of year. My only negative would be the lack of a driving range. Golfnow has "driving range" listed & they need to correct. This is the second club I've been to that has a "driving range" listed on Golfnow.com and when I arrived to hit balls, there was none!! Not very happy! I would've loved to play the other executive course b4 playing the Sanctuary.
Very nice course
First time playing. Nice combo of executive and "real" course. Staff very friendly. Greens in great shape!
Good greens
Overall the course was in good condition and the pace of play was good. The greens were in very good shape and the putts rolled true.
Great Warmup Course
Course has 9 holes par 32 short executive & back nine is par 35 and really a good test. The greens are great & better than most in area. Staff is friendly & accommodating. This was our 2nd time playing here after not playing for awhile. Perfect course to get your golf back in shape. Easy nine to warm up before the back nine. Also have another nine Par 30. Fun place to play and help your game.
Scenic course in great condition
The Sanctuary has nice mix of long par 5's, par 3's over water and challenging par 4's. Greens are in great shape, very smooth and true. When playing 18 holes, the 9 hole Sanctuary will be paired with one of the two shorter 9 hole courses, either the Meadows (par 32) or Oaks (par 30). Good opportunity to work on short game.
Pro shop staff was very friendly. Fun course at a great value.
Nice course for the price
My brother and I played this course for the first time and it started great with how friendly the staff was. We will definitely play these courses again.
Know before you go!
Went because it was close and the price seemed fair. There are 3 nines, The Oaks is like a fun miniature golf course except with wedges as well as a putter. The Meadows is slightly longer but from the tips the par 4's are still long par 3's (being mostly under 215 yards) and the Sanctuary nine is the "normal" length with 2 par fives over 500 yards. The staff in the pro shop were extremely friendly and happy, the players on the course also very pleasant, lots of waves and "how are you doings?" so it made for a very nice day. The greens are in great shape right now, as nice as any you will find on this caliber of course. Lush grass rolling pretty smooth and true with lots of slope and grain to keep you honest. Fairways were nice, no need to roll the ball to find a good spot and the tee boxes were acceptable (the tips in rougher shapes the more commonly used boxes). For higher handicaps and senior citizens this is a phenomenal course, if you hit your 4 iron 200 yards or more then "know before you go" so you can enjoy the day with family and friends and not focus on the fact you'll be wearing out the grooves on your lob wedge.
Looking for something different?
This course has 3 9holes for mix and matching. One is long and the other two shorter. This makes for an interesting combination for all levels of play.
Pennbrooke
The long course is fun to play. The short courses are not as easy as they seem.
Great Greens!
Course consists of two short and easy (Meadows and Oaks) nines, and a much longer test, the challenging Sanctuary nine. By far the best and most consistent greens in the area, all in prime condition. Tees and fairways ok for this time of year. Enjoyable round that moved along at a good pace. Friendly staff and nice surroundings. Will certainly play there again.
