The Sanctuary Golf Course at Pennbrooke Fairways

About
Situated less than an hour from Orlando, Pennbrooke Fairways in Leesburg is one of the top spots for golf in Lake County, Florida. There are three different nines available, the executive Meadow and Oaks Courses, and the Sanctuary nine, a regulation course. Like the Oaks and Meadow nines, the Sanctuary has five different sets of tees available. There are two par-5 holes that will please long hitters and they also present some of the toughest challenges. The first par 5 you'll encounter narrows severely at the landing area, forcing you to choose between a safe layup and an ambitious drive. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also ponds and marshland that come into play. All three of the par-3 holes bring water into play. Pennbrooke Fairways' Sanctuary golf course doesn't have the same walkability the others have due to the 500-foot bridge that spans a protected wildlife area and swamp.

"Suprisingly Fun"
The Greens alone make this place worth every penny....Grass everywhere and very friendly to shots coming into them..............
Great golfing
The course is a bit short, but, is a great, fun place to enjoy the day. The day was excellent, course is in good condition, and the people are second to none. I will be back to play again.
Mid winter play.
Played Santuary and Meadows. Meadows has no 5's and played very fast. We played from the black tees and was not too difficult. We usually play from the whites. Sanctuary did have. Pair of 5's. Par for both nines was 67. Greens were not too beat up. It is winter and seemed to be surviving the Florida cold. Fairways were maintained and groomed nicely. Tee box were not too shabby either. The price is a bit steep, we played for $26. I'll play again if the price is right.
Great Course
For the money, this is a great course. No waiting, good conditions...
only nine hole but alot of fun
The course is in great shape greens are like carpet and fast
Will go again alot of fun
Nice Course
I will play it again green were very nice and tee were very nice too little short and only 9 hole witch we played twice.
good for 9 holes
Very good for beginners or a fast 9 holes. A lot of short fairways. Place needs better upkeep.
Nice & Fun course
Nice little course. Have played it approx. 5-6 times over the past few months. If you can play it for under $20.00 or so great, it's not a $25.00 golf course however when there are tons of options nearby.
Good Course For Seniors
The Golf Course has 3 nine hole courses. The two I played were rated at a par 67. Most greens were in good shape, Fairways were good overall with just a few rough areas, the tee boxes were OK depending where you played from. Most holes are pretty wide with lots of room for error. It is an enjoyable course to play and is really designed for the high/mid handicap golfer. Staff in the Pro-shop was very helpful.
A Decieving course.
I played the Oaks 9 hole as a single ,so play was quick ,and mostly par 3's .Then I played the Sanctuary, and a couple of other players joined me ,I had a tougher challenge keeping to a bogey round on the Sanctuary course ,very challenging. The scenery was great, and the weather was a couple of showers and then turned sunny after the 8th hole of the Oaks. All in all a great day met a couple of nice guys one from Florida and one from Virginia.
Great Value
Good course for seniors and couples golf. The Sanctuary 9 was a championship nine , while the other two 9's are par 3 courses
fast play
Played 18 holes in two and half hours. Course needs to get weeds out of greens.
Good view
The course has a nice layout, very interesting mixing an executive 9 hole with a regular 9 hole, but fun experience. Will go back.
The Course is in excellent condition
Jim, Mike, Jan Are always friendly an accommodating to get me on the all the courses when . I call for a tee time l would like to thank you all being helpful Thank You. Aldo Corsetti
One great nine and one executive
We played Oaks (Par 30) and Sanctuary (Par 35). Since we normally play Par 72 course, we liked Sanctuary better because we can hit all the clubs. Oaks would be a great course to play with three to five clubs. The course conditions were very good and weather was as usual hot/humid and started storming when we finished. Some greens on the Oaks had patches. With water, bunkers and mounding the courses present enough of a challenge to make it enjoyable. All in all a good course!
Meadows/Santuary
Despite a mix up with our tee times (our fault) ,Tom on the desk was very accommodating and got our foursome out ahead of the other groups.
We had a great round which was highlighted by my three birdies, an eagle and a "Hole in One" on the Par 3 #3 on the Meadows course.
I will be back for sure !!
Nice course. Green in excellent shape.
We enjoyed the course. Oaks had 4 par 3s which was the only feature I did not prefer.
the course was in great shape.
the course was in great shape. the greens were good and the fairways in good shape. would recommend it to friends.
General
Tee boxes need leveling and re sodding. Meadows course really bad.
To expensive for quality and difficulty.
if you play this course after 2 pm you pay 25.00 unlimited play til dark...
