SummerGlen Golf Club

SummerGlen is incredible everything from the tee box to the green was perfect no changes from one green to the next perfectly manicured myself and friends are from the Tampa area wanted to try some place different to . What great gem the staff were awesome very helpful. I would recommend SummerGlen to everyone go out and play I promise you, you won’t be disappointed . Shout out to the greens keeper keep up the great work. This is my new favorite course better than Lake Jovita. The price is such a great deal and well worth the hour and 45 min trip from Tampa two thumbs up 👍

Course is in great shape from last season, they have made major improvements to the fairways and trafic routes. Greens are in awesome shape no blemishes or over growth. I would recommend to any and all handicaps!!!!

The course looks and plays beautiful. Greens roll great and are receptive. Bermuda rough is challenging but playable.

Be sure to enjoy the newly opened Tavern at the Glen after your round. Great food, drinks and atmosphere.

The course was in great conditions, until you get out of the 1st cut , if you get in to the rough don’t worry , just lay one and keep going, other than that great experience the ranger and ladies in the Pro shop where 10/10.

This course was in rough shape 6 months ago. Since then a new maintenance company has been working on improvements. What a change! Greens, fairways and tee boxes are in great shape after overseeding. Some cart path extensions smooth things out and are aesthetically pleasing. Quite a transformation in only 6 months!

I use to play this course 2-3 times a month about 10+ years ago. I stopped going for two reasons. The course went to sh&t and the employees were incredibly rude to outside players. The course conditions are what they are but treating outside players like they are scum couldn’t be overlooked. If you are a member then you get smiles and politeness but if not then you get yelled at for some of the dumbest stuff. Courses like this can not survive on memberships only and this course ran off all the outside players and losing money began to show in the course conditions. It has been sold a couple times over the last several years because of this.

I went back to play with my group of guys and nothing has changed. The rudeness is just amazing and the course was nothing to write home about.

7:08 tee time for 2 players, 49 and 51 years old. Arrived at 6:45am. We met Patty inside the clubhouse working the register. She was having trouble logging onto the computer. She told us we could grab a cart and get loaded, and she should be ready by the time we were loaded.. We walked outside and took the first cart in the line and loaded our clubs on it. While loading, the starter “Mark” pulled up and yelled “ is this what you do, just steal a cart” to my partner. He continued to yell, accusing him of taking a cart even after we told him Patty told us to. I walked around the truck when I heard what he said. I then told Mark to get away from us. “This is not how you treat people!” He finally drove off. He then came to the first tee and again rudely said “if you had talked to me you would know we’ve started at number 10 all week” but today we’re starting at one.” I told him you could’ve told us that earlier instead of yelling at us! He then said well we’re starting at one today! I said so what’s the point of this conversation “get away from me or refund me my money and I’ll leave” I told him I wanted the manager’s name and that I would be making a complaint about his behavior and attitude. Before leaving the course we spoke with the manager, Kevin.. He apologized for Mark’s behavior, but we weren’t offered any kind of compensation rain check or otherwise, for having been treated so poorly.. I will never play this course again as long as Mark works for it.

Played here several months ago and this place was dog track. Play here yesterday. What an improvement. Greens are best around. Fairways good. Go play play.

From tee to green the course is in really nice shape. The only concern was the pace of play. Two foursomes ahead of me were very old and very slow. There was a ranger on the course but didn't say a word to speed them up. All in all definitely worth the play.

This course was much better manicured than most i've played in within 60 miles of my Alachua Cty home.

Very sparse afternnon crowd, part the heat, part the time of year. Greens, in exc shape. Rough was trimmed! Fairways very good. Traps were in very good shape. Fairly open course, woods not a factor but there are strategic valleys and dense gullies one had to avoid.

Great staff too.

Played with 2 other guys. We are decent golfers don’t play super fast but we don’t play slow. Had an older couple behind us, constantly on our butts because the front purple tees are way up. We offered multiple times for them to play through, they chose to stay back. We are on hole 9 and they come flying through the middle of the fairway cussing us out. We get to hole 11 and the ranger comes up to us saying we have been accused of being obnoxious. We see the same old couple again in the distance on hole 14 driving along the road watching us. The starter wasn’t a pleasant person either. Will not be returning.

The course looked and played well. Greens a bit slow.

When their restaurant and bar opens in a couple of weeks, it will be worth making Summerglen one of your 'go to" courses.

I have played this course about 30 times in the last few years. Awesome greens and the course plays clean. Love it
