Challenging from the gold tees
Some narrow fairways, several tee shots require a good carry over natural habitat but that made it very interesting. Fairways were bare in spots despite plenty of rain lately, other spots had been recently seeded. Greens had some bare spots as well but they kept the flags away from them. For a $40 Hot Deal it was a great value. Two of us finished the round in under 3.5 hours on a Sunday afternoon.
mixed experiences
first impression is a very unfriendly guy at the pro shop but very nice staff outside — not so great front nine - much better back
Course was ok condition but you need a ranger out on the. Course to improve the pace of plY
No way this is a 4.2-star rated course
I've been a golf advisor for quite some years. I've played at a bunch of courses all over the world to recognize that Palm Cove is not a 4.2 star course. It's a 3-star course at best. In summary this course is extremely narrow with lots of doglegs typical of tightly built golf courses around residential communities. This one takes the cake though, because any errant shot is pretty much going to disappear. To top it off, the course is not in great condition. The guys they paired me up with have played here in the past, and their opinion is that the staff just let the course go, as they though the course was in atrocious conditions compared to years past. Some of the tee boxes looked like goat field patches, some of the greens had patches of sand on them, the fairways were muddy even though it hadn't rained that much. There are much better courses in the Martin county area. Don't waste your money on Palm Cove.
Narrow but challenging
Most narrow course I've played in some time. If patient things go ok to well. Woods and hybrids play well here on many holes. Staff was top notch! Bring balls and have fun!
Great course and great staff
The staff were welcoming and the starter very helpful with many tips.
Only disappointment was the bar was closed when we finished as was the pro shop.@4.pm
Played as a singleton
Great day at the G.C. is an understatement. I was paired with a crusty lady who was from the area I introduced myself she did not. We were awaiting a couple from Boston. She was not a Club Member but thought she new it all. .The starter said they would be pairing up groups into four. My clubs were placed as the rider on the cart she asks if I smoke, I answer yes. Then she asks if I have played the course before I answer no. She then started to speak to the starter stating that I smoked. The starter said if she wanted her own cart it would be $5 more. She then said she should drive because she had played the course before. I stated that I could follow the paths and signage quite well thank you.
With Covid-19 and all still happening. You would think they would have offered us our own cart. The couple joining us arrive just prior too our tee time. I go over and introduce myself, they ask me the name of my partner I say I don't know she never introduced herself. We head over to the 1st tee. I ask her if she has had her vaccines. She then states to me "You do not ask that question to someone from the USA. It is our freedom not to have to tell someone."
She being a retired nurse, and fit enough to play golf I still wore my mask when on the cart. She played the entire round with her phone on. She was yelling at the other twosome when he was driving onto the fairway of a hole that was not marked to do so.
90 degree rule. One par 3 was marked no carts she actually called the Pro shop to tell them that they were riding on the fairway. The Lady at the pro shop I saw on the course, I told her about the great fun I was having with the crusty lady. She said that's what you get when you purchase a single on GOLF NOW!! discus sting answer.
My golf partner of 25 years pasted in Dec of 2020. This is the second time I have been out since her passing. Such a shame to have not been given a second cart would have made all the difference. From the get go.
I will play it again only if I can have my own cart.
We were put with an older woman with red hair. She was a miserable person and one of the worst we have ever played with. She worked hard to ruin a good experience.
