Martin Downs Country Club - Osprey Creek Course

I would never play here again or recommend to anyone. This course had some of the worst course conditions I’ve played in a very long time. Tee boxes were the same cut as the dirt/sand/grass around them and the fairways were so patchy you had to move your ball every time to find a patch of grass that isn’t crab grass or straight sand. Ranger came by, drove straight across the ladies tee, stopped and asked why I hit from a further tee back since “the ladies tees are up here”. Very disappointed and I cannot believe the greens fees are $85 for this place.

Apparently you have have a better pace than a 4 hour round Start time 10:15 finished 9 Holes

12:15 harassed by ranger 9th

That’s 2 hours about average YES!!!!

He wanted not one but 2 groups to play thru

( because 2 open holes in front of our group…)

I was anxious to see what improvements had been made.

New greens were hit and miss.,Front 9 green were spotty with some area missing grass and very bumpy. Back nine was much better

Fairways and green aprons were full of crabgrass. Bunkers had not been racked in days.

Tee boxes were in poor condition with crabgrass being the predominant grass .

I would rate this course a 4/10. It’s over priced considering its condition and I don’t expect it will improve.

The course is coming along. I believe the upgrades to the club house are wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful. I believe when the new greens develop fully it will be a great improvement.

Front 9 was closed. Reserved 18 so had to play back 9 twice. Nothing on the website for GN indicates front is closed that I could find. Played here a few years ago and liked the layout but the course is in need of some serious restoration.

Although all the greens are being redone, fairways, sand traps and almost everything else needs work.

Golf now had stated that the back was closed, but they did not inform me that they were temporary greens also even though they told me that when I got there, I decided to play, but unfortunately, the course was in terrible shape. I have played this course in the past and have never seen it like this the fairways were not even mowed. The tea boxes were shabby And it was a total disappointment. I actually lost three balls in the fairway. Hopefully they are going to rectify the situation there, but I won’t be playing for a considerable amount of time at this course.

Look back Nine was closed as they were doing maintenance which I was aware of, but there are also only temporary greens on the front Nine. I understood that I would only be playing the front 92 times but the overall lack of the maintaining of the course was troubling. The fairways were not mowed. The tea boxes were not up, kept in. The overall appearance was shabby to say the least. It appeared that the upkeep of the course had been ignored for a period of time

Course is great. I can't wait until it is fully finished. The food at the Clubhouse is excellent.

Back 9 was closed. Temporary greens on the front 9. It will be so nice when it gets completed. For now, look for deals. I paid Zero $. A real bargain!

Greens are coming in. Remainder of course is rough. Should be ready in November

If you are allergic beware. Overrun with fire ants!
