BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course

Course was in great condition and the greens were very receptive to all iron shots and rolled true.

A little pricey for a logo golf ball ($13), but still enjoyed the round.

Course was in great condition even after a week of heavy rain. Tee boxes could be cleaned up.

Carts gave us a bad experience we had 3 guys in our froup and two carts one failed at the 10th and took a long time to be replaced and the second one was replaced around the 13th and the car fivenntonis was suffering with bad bearings , battery compartment for first one was full of spider nets a clearnsign of no maintenance

Bar was close ld when there were people at the course

My son and I planned a last minute round at Blackhorse while in town for another event. Everyone we encountered was fabulous - from the pro shop, the snack bar, the staff at the carts - EVERYONE was kind, helpful and all around fantastic. It was honestly the best experience and we’ve been to MANY golf courses around the country!

I played the North course. There was a twosome ahead of me and a foursome behind. I politely asked to join the twosome, with the hope to speed up the pace, but the overweighted guy flatly refused my request. That was shocking as I rarely got that kind of response from fellow golfers. Also, they never attempted to join the twosome ahead of them so the delay was obvious. I called the pro shop and the man said he will send someone out but it didn't happen.

We had a bad experience with carts and it is fristrating for a course that charges a high price

There were 3 of us in 3 carts, one of them failed after 10 holes when we opened battery compartment it was full of spider nets showing lack of maintenance, we called for help and took 20 min to get another carr

Later in the round an employee brought another cart to replace our cart that we had from hole 1 as he said its battery was low , the cart given to us had a bad bearing as it was making bad josies

This os not what we expected , bar closed atnthe end of the rpund when there were people still playing

Played north course. Real Good shape for bunkers. Greens and tee boxes just good enough. Pace of play was reasonable for holiday weekend. Green fees a bit high.

Most importantly, any corse in Houston that doesn’t fill their water coolers on the holes is out. That is terrible.

Second, they let groups play 5 deep, and do nothing to move the pace of play along.

All in all the corse is too expensive to allow these two things to happen.

Range ball should be included with any Tee time. Once initial payment is made as a patron I don’t want to have to pay an additional fee to warmup hitting on range. For many other course access to practice range / bucket of balls is included with tee time payment

Course was in excellent shape. We finished in 4 hours . I do feel sorry for the groups behind us, There were 2 holes open behind us . My only concern, for the cost of playing early on weekend , management needs to have strong marshal’s who are willing to be tough on slow play offenders .

Course is always in good shape, greens and fairways were very nice for late spring. But, cart path only for a course that was dry caused and extra hour of play time that should have been a sub 4 hour round. A 4.75 hour round for a course with no water or rain issues anywhere was not a welcome addition to the $100 greens fee!
