BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course
About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Golfer Reviews
This course has poor quality fairways.
The pace was terrible. Most holes required you to keep the cart on the cart paths, so the golfers had to run back and forth across the course, which caused a very slow pace. The fairways were dry in most places, so there was no need for all of the holes to be restricted. There are several other courses in the Houston area with better conditions and less expensive.
Cart Path Only???
Most of the course was cart path only and the dang carts would shut off if you got 5 feet off the cart path. Did a tremendous amount of walking which slowed play down tremendously.
Beautiful Day At Blackhorse
Great price. The course conditions were great, pace of play for a Friday was not bad, and cart beverage girls were present and very customer centric.
Cart path only
The course for it being this time of year looked good, however most of the course was cart path only the day we went. There was absolutely no reason for it to be cart path only, and it made pace of play extremely slow. A 4 hour day turned to 6 hours and that's after skipping 2 holes. We had a hot deal for $60 or so, and I wouldn't pay anything more on a regular basis for this course. Not worth paying over $100.
Slow pace of play
Blackhorse is a great venue. But yesterday's round was extremely frustrating. The round took 5.5 hours. The slow play was caused by a fivesome that was 4 groups ahead of us. I can't believe the Course allowed a fivesome on a busy Sunday afternoon. It was surprising because we had played Blackhorse many times and had never had a pace of play issue. We will be back, but if it plays as slowly as it did on this round, we will find other places to play.
Nice round
For a Saturday morning round of golf, most enjoyable . Played in 4 hours , course in solid shape. Staff always friendly and helpful. Wish we would have seen the beverage cart prior to 15th hole.
Great course but watch out for the range backs
I was here a few times everything but this time the range balls were 13 dollars. It was 21 dollars this past time. That’s just about Highway robbery.
Good layout, great carts
The area is dry so the grass wasn't all that green. That didn't matter though because the course is well maintained allowing for good play. Greens are deceptively fast - no complaints other than my 2 & 3 putts. The carts have good seats. I look forward to playing again and possibly the other course.
Good but over priced
Everything was in good shape from tee to green. The price to play here is ridiculous though. You would think it’s a high end course for the rates they charge but it’s not. Many other comparable options in Houston for less
