About
The South Course at BlackHorse is known for the sand quarry that was ingeniously worked into the layout by the design team. Particularly on the back side, the wetlands and sand features come into play prominently and create a totally unique setting for golf.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 290 west to the Spring Cypress exit. Go south (left) under Hwy. 290 to Old Hempstead Hwy. Turn right and drive .5 mile. Turn left on House & Hahl Rd. Then left on Mound Rd. and right on Fry Rd. The entrance is on the right.

Worth the money
Course was in terrific condition considering the rain that had been received the prior 2 days.
Greens were fantastic, and other than standing water that the starter warned us about prior to teeing if, no complaints.
Layout was a great mix of hole types without being too penal, the closing stretch is the money shot though, we will be back to play the North course, and definitely the south again!
P.s. the bar makes a solid Transfusion.
One of the top courses in the area
Blackhorse South is one of the best courses in town. It's always in great shape. The greens were a touch slower than usual this time but certainly nothing to complain about. The back nine has a string of very cool, unique holes. 15, 16 and 17 are particularly nice around the water. There was no starter or marshal out on the course which wasn't a big deal because the pace was good but we didn't have a scorecard or a pin placement sheet which would've been nice. Overall, I'd highly recommend this course.

Awesome courses! Both the north and the south. Greens fast and always in good shape..love playing here. The south a little more challenging. The north opens up on the back.
Slow play
Booked t times hoping to get 18 in the afternoon. we had almost 4 hours of daylight. because the pace of play was so slow, we managed to get only 12 holes. A golf course who doesn't spead any distance between t times so that the pace is closer to 6 hours rather than 4 is just wanting the money. I won't go back to pay that much for 9 holes

Greens were awesome
Great conditions with perfect greens. Played the South course in 3 hours. Tight fairways made for a challenge.

Best greens in town

Course in great shape, but...
It’d have been nice to know the beverage cart wasn’t running, or that there were no water coolers around the course.
Course conditions were great though. Greens rolling consistent and fast.
