About
The South Course at BlackHorse is known for the sand quarry that was ingeniously worked into the layout by the design team. Particularly on the back side, the wetlands and sand features come into play prominently and create a totally unique setting for golf.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 290 west to the Spring Cypress exit. Go south (left) under Hwy. 290 to Old Hempstead Hwy. Turn right and drive .5 mile. Turn left on House & Hahl Rd. Then left on Mound Rd. and right on Fry Rd. The entrance is on the right.

South Course has interesting back nine
The pace of play here was what I try to get when playing golf so that aspect of the course met expectations. I suggest offering a bit more in terms of refreshments on the course.
Best shape
I have played both the North and a South course many times. Today I was on the South and found it to be in the best conditions I have seen at Blackhorse in a long time. Fairways were clean and the greens rolled very well. I would play it again tomorrow if I could.
Too Tough for me
A very well conditioned and enjoyable course, especially the greens. I was not in any traps so no comment there.
The practice area was fine.
Never saw a beverage cart despite the fact it was a Sunday.
Best course in West Houston
I played the South Course and absolutely loved it. The course is located in a nice area and the staff is very friendly. The layout of the South Course is just right the combination of beautiful and challenging without being overly difficult.

Great Property
This was a great 5 star experience all around! Pro Shop Staff and starter were extremely friendly and helpful. Course is in great shape and greens are smooth and rolling true. Would recommend this course to any golfer! I will be back!

Excellent Course and services
We played the "South" course. The parking, clubhouse, and driving range are all right next to each other - easy access. Holes 1/9/18 for the South course are quite a distance away, but signage was good at least. The course itself was in excellent condition. Good luck surviving holes 2-6, but the rest of the course is reasonably open; a bit long in some places since we played from the tips. Definitely want to play the course again.
New carts
Excellent round this morning. Course was in great shape as usual. New carts are very nice.
Always fun
I always enjoy Blackhorse, especially on the Golfnow rates. Greens were running a little slower than normal but still in good shape! All in all a very fun round!
