BlackHorse Golf Club - South Course

Regarding my rating, I would give it 3.5 if I could, Definitely better than average, but after hearing about this course for years, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. There are some really nice holes, and some really average ones. Not really any "showcase" holes. Not sure if this is tagged to the track I played, if not, I played the South course. My biggest disappointment was the very slow greens. Maybe they are short staffed due to COVID and aren't able to mow as often as they would like. They rolled nice and true, just slow. Some of the narrow holes presented a challenge. Other holes were pretty simple. I'll definitely give them another try after the pandemic has ended.

The staff were incredibly rude & NOT even remotely friendly at all. I booked threw your website golf now.com & they wouldn’t honor the online price of $59.95pp even though I showed them my confirmation number. Instead we had to pay the regular course fee of $89pp due to new “Covid-19 city regulations” I asked to speak with the course manager “Trent” he refused to handle this situation. He simply said “it is what it is, you want to play this course or not?” Truly shows that this course management does not care about their members. I chose this course because it is local & I want to give my money to local businesses to help keep them from going under during these hard times. Needless to say they will NEVER get another $ from me even after this pandemic is over!

My favorite thing about this course is how secluded you feel while playing. BlackHorse is not like other neighborhood courses where youre almost playing through backyards. There is plenty of challenging areas but nothing to where you need to be a pro to make a decent score.

Played the South course and found it somewhat challenging. Fiarways and greens were in very good shape but the tee boxes were over grown and need maintaince..

First: The course has handled the Covid-19 restrictions vey well. Check in was smooth and safe...I requested and got a solo cart.

Second: Course conditios were great, except for bunkers that were virtually unplayable.

Playing the south course was a pleasant experience. After a lot of recent rain, the course was soggy and partially muddy and had some standing water, otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating.

I’ve been forced to pay the full 4 player amount in advance, but one player pulled out, due to concerns about the vivid 9 , and since it was a last minute decision , I did not know how to handle this financial situation on the spot. Maybe GN can help me with that.

The only negative about our whole experience was that a five some was playing in front of us and held us up every hole. Conditions were phenomenal and layout is picturesque.

Played the South Course. The course was in a good shape for this time of the year. The pace of play was horrible that I had to almost quit after 9 holes, they were having an outing or something and these people were hitting multiple shots with no concern for the others playing behind. Fortunately some one from the Proshop came by and moved me to the North Course to save my day. The North Course was more scenic.

Sadly only played 9 holes on south due to a work issue coming up but loved the difference between North and South. Lot more tree lined on South but conditions were excellent on both. Greens were in good shape, bunkers had plenty of sand and for the winter, the fairways were good. The greens were rolling smooth. The inside staff were amazing and friendly. I was very pleased and would recommend this place to anyone. See ya next time

This is a challenging course, with good scores capable if you are a straight shooter with your drives. I would rate this as a 4.3 out of 5 for the course and all amenities. Worth the price if you can find a discount with GolfNow.

First time playing here course was great, staff are really friendly will definitely be back for more rounds. I played the south course today had a great time.
