The Quarry Golf Club
About
Located just minutes from downtown Canton, The Quarry Golf Club was built on the site of an old quarry that dates back to the 1800s. The location provides a dramatic landscape featuring cliffs that stretch over 100 feet, meandering streams, and deep-water lakes. The golf course utilizes the natural diverse features of the terrain, which lends each hole a unique character. Despite being an old quarry, there are many mature trees that line the fairways. Rocky outcroppings and native grasses border the gently undulating greens and water also comes into play frequently. It's a golf course that demands accuracy and you may find that you need to use all the clubs in your bag. The tee shots can seem intimidating initially but the landing areas are more generous than they appear.

Beautiful, honest and interesting.
The course is a pleasure to the eye, well planned and executed. Condition is very good with honest greens. It has been built on land that has been reclaimed from an old strip mine of some sort with a few inoperative oil wells and storage tanks scattered around the landscape. As a result of the landform the course is quite vertical on a number of the holes. None of the holes are poorly executed.
I will be glad to return to this course when back in town.
Where was the Ranger?
Many times we had 3 plus groups stacked on a tee and never once saw a Ranger. At the very least one of the staff could have approached us with an explanation especially since the Pro Shop was well aware of the situation via the gps on the carts.
Very tough course for beginners and occasional golfers, although helpful people and beautiful scenery....
Very easy to get a tee time and check in at the clubhouse and online. Carts can't go to the car lot to load up clubs. You will have to bring them to cart area to load up. Starter, was very informational and friendly.
Hole #1 was very majestic scenery and will have the feeling of eagerness to play golf. Course is wonderful, although carts have restricted areas they can go on the course, very frustrating if the restricted area is on the opposite side of the fairway because course has many hills to walk. This may slow play down. Great GPS in the carts for yardage if you can pull the cart near the ball. Beautiful layout to finish your round on #18, coming into the clubhouse with the restaurant overlooking the players. For occasional and beginner golfers may be a waste of time and money. I felt like once I get better the course would be the next step to challenge my skills. Overall, good experience with the people and humbling with the golfing.
Challenging
Very much enjoyed the round as there was no one on the course due to the weather. Course played long due to the weather but is still a good test of skills. Enough tee options to challenge any level golfer.
Worth the drive from CLE
It was well worth the drive down from Cleveland. The diffence in the Tee boxes helped me compete with my 20 year old College football playing son, who drove the ball a country mile. Beautiful views from tee to green.
Dont Miss this course
First nice people. Course excellent shape greens fast. what a post card course. shot making is needed to score on this track. Go for it, will play when passing canton.
10 stars
By far the best course I’ve played in my 20 years.
One of my favorite NE Ohio courses
Love this course. Challenging and beautifully laid out. Hole 4, 14, and 15 are my favorites. A must play for golfers in NE Ohio
Fabulous
Staff was great. Starter was very informative. Course from the blacks was a bit too long. We moved up to the blue tee and made it much more enjoyable.
Good as always
Quarry was in good shape. Greens were a little rough but that has to do with the horrible spring weather we've had. Overall a great experience.
Solid Golf Course
The Quarry is a solid golf course with the perfect amount of challenge. The course has many elevations to it and creates several unique holes. Overall a solid place to play.
Great course and pace of play
I thoroughly enjoy golfing here. It's a little more expensive for the area but it's worth it. The course is always is great condition and the greens roll true. It's often a little wet but certainly not unplayable. You have to have every shot to go low here. One of my favorite courses.
One of the best around
Absolutely superb. I've played alot of nice courses all over the state and this one is right up there with the best of them. The layout is challenging and course conditions are fabulous. Staff is friendly & accommodating. Club house & locker rooms are top notch.
First time play and loved it
Great scenery and it was a great price for how good of shape the course is in. I would highly recommend this course to everyone!
GOLFWEEK's Best you can Play
The Quarry is listed as the best you can play in Ohio. The views from many of the tees are very scenic, no matter the direction that you look. Elevation changes with many upslopes but you do not feel like you are a mountain goat. There is a variety of tees and a golfer needs to know his own game to make the course a challenge. It is possible to score, but you need to be a patient golfer. Course was in great shape considering the time of year, looking forward to playing it again soon. Great variety in shotmaking on the Par 3,s
Challenging Layout and fun to play
We played on a very windy Sunday and had to move it up on the tees due to the heavy winds. The pace was nice because there weren't many groups out on this particular day. The greens rolled nicely considering the time of year.
Beautiful Course, Slow Play
Our foursome came from Pa for a weekend trip and played Quarry Golf Club on a Saturday morning. We found the course in Very nice shape and a Very Friendly staff. The course was a little wet from some midweek rain but we found the layout quite challenging. Our foursome caught a twosome on hole #5 and pushed them to the turn where we found four groups on #10. The ranger came out on #12 to see what the holdup was but that's the last we saw him. All of this added up to a 5 hour round. That being said, we had a Very Nice time playing at Quarry.
