The Quarry Golf Club

When we played our round the high that day was about 45 degrees and a little wet. We weren't able to get the full effect of the greens because there was still condensation still on the greens. it was by far one of the most beautiful courses I've ever played in Ohio. The course played very well that day despite the clubhouse (for food) was closed for the season. i would highly recommend the average golfer like myself to play this course.

Great layout, good challenge for all levels of golfers. Unique holes based on the topography of this former quarry. Very scenic, relatively open fairways with opportunities to score well but, need good iron shots into the greens and smart tee shots. NE Ohio's best kept secret. Love this course. Would rank it top 10 for Ohio public courses. Just needs minor tweaking; better/more marketing, more competitive rates, improved course maintenance. I'll definitely be back...

The weather was very overcast, windy, sunny, had rained the night before but course conditions allowed 90 degrees. very limited play due to weather conditions so pace of play was how fast the three of us played. It was like having our own course. Leaves were controlled as best as can be considering the windy weather. Enjoyable day of golf and the hole in one made it even better. would agree that it is one of the best you can play according to Golfweek Magazine.

course was in great shape. When you golf in November you expect leaves on the course, but not at the Quarry all leaves were blown off the fairways and greens never had to hunt for golf balls due to poor maintenance(my poor shots yes). the carts are in good shape with gps systems on them and with the blind shots on the course it sure helps. We are going to play here again.

The course is by far the best course I have played this year! Narrow fairways with greens that will punish you if you miss on the wrong side of the hole.
The views are amazing! Teeing off 100 ft. above the fairway is always a good time. The layout demands length off the tee with a drivable par 4 thrown in the mix. Not a single hole is a letdown with either a view or a challenging design.
Make sure to play this course when you have your game firing on all cylinders. Would play again if it was closer to home. Great time even with it taking 5 hours on a Thursday morning.

This course is truly challenging, with a few holes borderline unfair ( #13 for one). Each hole is different from the others, a lot of forced carry shots, many ravines as well. A lot of elevation changes as well. Do not even think of walking the course.

Only moderate complaint is the height of the fairway grass. A little longer than most up scale courses we've played. In some cases , the longer grass might be intended to keep your shot from rolling back to you.

Overall, a 5 star course designed for the better player.

The Quarry is an excellent test of one's skills. Significantly changing terrain, undulating greens and visually appealing. The fairways, greens and rough were all in good shape, for the most part. The only downside was the bunkers - very little sand, pebbles and clay - NOT GOOD.

Recommended - just stay out of the traps!

My wife got my tee time for my birthday. Went with my golf buddy and we hooked up with 2 young fellows and we had a fun day. They played the blue tees and we played the forward tees as we are 71 & 72 and were able to keep up. The course is very picturesque with a lot of neat holes. Definitely not an up and back course. The greens were very challenging with a lot of undulations.
It's to bad that there are so many players out there that do not fix ball marks. I fixed at least 5 on every hole. Don't complain about the greens when it's not the courses fault.

Every time we play here we have a great time. The course is in great condition, staff is very friendly and great place to grab a bite to eat after your round. The only problem when we played this time, and we had 2 golfers in our group that had not played here, was that they over watered the fairways. I know we have had some dry and hot days but almost every fairway was saturated. We lost a few golf balls that plugged after our tee shots and if you were in a low lying area, which there is plenty, you were swinging standing in a swamp. If you hit a good tee shot you did not get any benefit of any roll, the ball would either plug or roll 10-15 feet. Will go back, but will call to see their watering habits.

Pro(?)shop nearly non existent asked for pencil for scorecard and the shop attendant couldn't find one!

The range is a joke with mats just thrown on the ground(I think that they trimmed the sod off, but I'm not sure. The lone practice bunker had no rake, but it didn't matter because there was no sand!

I asked the cart girl if there was a restroom on the course and she said no there was not.

The course was wet and the greens were slow and bumpy. Hey...this is a weekend! They should have been mowed!

Had a blast with a few of my really good friends. None of us had ever played this track but had always heard great things. I can assure you that all the good things we heard were true.

The course is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are kept and you can tell. The carts with GPS and flyover capabilities made playing the course for the first time easier without basic course knowledge.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and always professional.

The only thing I would say is that our dining experience was not what we expected after all the good service. For example we sat down at a table and no one came over for about 10-15 minute until we requested a waitress/waiter. We ordered drinks and a friend of mine we requested a lemon for his water. The waiter brought it to him with his care hands (not something I have ever seen anywhere else!!!). The food was okay but we were never given silverware until it was requested. It was just a poor dining experience from the beginning. Unfortunately it was the end of the day for us so that impression was the last one we had.

Being reasonable people the experience was great overall and I won't fault the who experience for one bad dinning. If I was a member of the local community I would have a hard time NOT joining this club.

This course is in great shape and provides a tough challenge. Beware of pace of play. I have golfed at the Quarry a handful of times. One time the clubhouse put a foursome of women in front of my group off the back 9 as we were making the turn. I called the pro-shop but no one answered. Recently I called to make a tee time and the man taking reservations sounded annoyed and told me the first tee time was at 7:40am. As I was talking with him their very own website said they had times from 6:30 all the way through the morning. I asked the man about it and he seemed very annoyed probably because he had to open the course the following morning and did not want to get their that early. Then he quoted me a price $11 dollars more than the online tee time, when I questioned him about it he became rude and I told him to never mind about the tee time. All of my experiences at this course have been bad and they all stem from the people inside the clubhouse and pace of play. Save your money and play another course.

Love this place. Only my second time there, but it's a great round. Certainly a tough track though!

Very dynamic golf course. Incredible collection of tee shots with elevation changes. Fun and very nice!

Overall, very good conditions, a tad rough around the edges.

Confused at why the 14th is the signature hole. It has a big rock on the left side that represents what the place use to be...its the highest hole on the course, yes, but otherwise not all that visually appealing. Second shot likely to be a blind shot. Can't see entire hole from tee. The tee shot on 15 is one you will remember. I think there are many more memorable holes than the 14th. I think its actually one of the weakest holes on the course.

Tough to play for the first time, especially off the tee. Can't use driver every time, and fairways aren't as easy to hit as it seems.

Great place behind 18th to eat and drink.

This is quite a special place. Spectacular elevation changes and varying hole lengths and layouts. Superb conditions. Only complaint might be the GPS carts should warn you before you go in a 'restricted' area so you don't get trapped having to go in reverse to get out.

I came in from Houston to visit family and The Quarry was my first choice to play. I hadn't been here in 9 years so I wasn't sure what to expect but I can tell you from the moment we arrived until we drove off, the experience was incredible. The staff greeted us as we pulled in and was friendly and accommodating. We were greeted on the first tee with a friendly starter who gave us all the information we needed for our round. The course was in the best shape of any public course I have played in this area. The greens were firm and fast, and from tee to green it was well maintained. I would highly recommend this to any out of town guests as a must play.

Played the course with my son (3 handicap) - I'm a (12). Selected it as it is ranked the best public course in the area. Don't play too many public courses, but the Quarry seemed a bit pricey for the experience. I expected the views to be much more scenic and the layout to have more changes in elevation. The biggest problem was that I expected the top ranked course to have better green speeds. Putts simply would not 'roll out' - balls quickly came to quick 'stops'. On the other hand, there are some outstanding holes. On the bad side, there are about 3 holes, that just are not a good golf hole (blind drives that are not good on public courses, plus some holes that don't give you any target to hit a drive).

We had a tee time for 12:50 and we were not informed of a tournament scheduled for this day. We never went off until 1:45. There was no starter to get the groups off in a timely manner, and play on the course was extremely slow. Took us 6 hours to do 18 holes & we didn't finish the 18th, and we were only a twosome. Was not happy about not being informed of the tournament, if we would have we wouldn't have booked, but since it was booked and paid for in full we didn't want to lose our money.

I really enjoyed the Quarry. It was a good mix of long and short holes that reminded me a lot of Blue Herron in Medina. Course was not busy, we played without ever catching up to anyone. Great elevation changes and conditions. My only 2 complaints are for the management. One, there are many restricted areas where the carts shut off, it would have been nice to be advised of this rather than figuring it out on our own. Second, the course was overwatered and sloshy in places(it wasn't from rain cause it hadn't rained in 2 weeks prior).
