They had just aerated the fairways and greens.
The course is enjoyable and is challenging. Although a municipal course it is generally well maintained. I have been playing off and on here for over 40 years. The staff is friendly. The clubhouse has a nice little lounge with TV.
The course is in good shape and is not too difficult
I enjoyed the course, it is challenging, but not so hard that it makes it difficult to play. It is kept up nicely and makes for a really good experience.
18 in 2.5 hours
This is my local go to course and this time of year it is not busy. The golf now rate is really a good value. It is a muni so it has some rough patches but in general the course is in good shape.
Good course for the money I paid
Great value the greens were in good shape when they had grass. Some bare spots on the greens
great layout, could use some maintiance
bare areas on the greens and grounds staff are non existant....saw some workers pulling palm frons out of the ponds, when they should have been working on the bare areas on the greens....green sand on the bare areas of the green dosen't help for good putting....shame as the layout is very interesting, you will hit all the clubs in your bag....fairways have many different weeds in them and the rough is very sandy and bare.....
Good, Challenging course, Reasonsbly open fairways.back nine greens in nice condition.
I enjoyed playing Mallards Landing. The fairways and greens were very fast , but I played between 12:30 and 4PM, so it was pretty dry. Water does not really come into play unless you bring it into play. There is an adequate amount of water on the property, but it is avoidable . Bunkers are nicely placed to make you play good approaches into the greens. All in all a pleasant track to play. I am a double boggie player, and broke 100.
Great Value
The course is in really good shape in comparison to other public courses in the area. A couple of the greens had some bad patches on them but overall the best greens I have played in a while.
Nice playing course
Could use some work on faiway. Greens are good and fun to play.
The course is long from the blue tees in the wind
Mallard landing is a great course for long hitters, great play not a good ideal to play it in the wind it turns into a monster.
I found many of the GREENS to MAVE MOLD in them
For the condition of this course and the greens the price they ask at the desk it is very much over priced in my opion.
Remarkable value for muny course
Always welcomed by the super friendly management and lounge staff. Conditions were remarkable for a municipal course for winter season. Pace of play was under 4 hours and the number of groups on the course for a Saturday was just right to avoid delays.
This course has some challenging holes
Overall I was pleased with the course. there were some areas that needed a little, work but the whole state could use some rain. I would definitely play there again.
Nice Muni, Some upgrades needed, Few Tough Holes
Good length and fairly wide fairways. Fairly priced.
A few tough holes, the long par 4s and 200+ par 3.
Short holes can yield birdies with well placed shots
Fairways had some bare spots probably from summer burn and winter dormancy, likewise the greens. But better shape than I saw a few years ago.
nice publc course
this is a decent public course. play was slow because there were alot of people
open spaces
I enjoy this course in spite of the city atmosphere, total flatness and mostly straight holes. There are lots of palm trees lining the holes under which I spent way too much time yesterday. There is no underbrush so finding wayward balls is fairly easy. The numerous water havards are just really retenion ponds and don't add much to the atmosphere. Most all greens are in good shape with a few at bit rough in places.
If you like in town courses and live nearby, give it a go.
Improved golf course.
This course is improved over the last few years. Nice to see the greens and tee boxes overseeded. The course still needs some work and it is nice to see that the sand traps have been improved.
Good medium length course for high handicappers.
I always enjoy playing this course because it has a mixture of easy and moderate holes. The first green was pretty poor but the greens got better although not even close to championship standard. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to play 18 in the afternoon.
Terrible conditions
As a area resident I was dismayed on the poor conditions Mallards Landing was in. I have played here for 18 years on and off. The greens where terrible with ungrown areas and dirt and I am not talking a little here. The City needs to investigate what happened and return the course to where someone wants to play. This would not be myself or my group. Really was a waste of my money.
An older, Public , well maintained course with a very friendly accomodating staff.
I had a 7am T-time. we where the 2nd group off the tee, allowing us to play in just over three hours. The well maintained fairways are a bit wider, thus more forgiving. Most of the greens have a break of more than an inch or two and are in relatively good condition for a muncipal course. There are a few water hazards. If you play your limitations, you can get arround or over them.
This is a walkable 18 hole course. In fact the 1st group off the tee at 6:52 was a walking 3some, playing ready golf and did not hold us up. I found with a acceptable drive using a 3 Wood or Hybred Iron, I would use one more Hybred shot and then my short game to the greens. The course was enjoyable to play.
