Not in great shape to start the year
Tee boxes were hardly grass, mostly dirt with some patchy weeds. Fairways and rough were not healthy compared to Summertime Duran conditions. And the greens are running at 9. Not worth the premium prices until they can clean it up.
Great experience
Staff was friendly! Very professional first class! Paired with a single who was great to play with. Staff gave tips about the course bar staff was very friendly. Carts were in great shape. Course was in good shape just a little rough but feel it was time of year and having been on lock down from Covid. Definitely would play again and would send my friends and family there!

Because of the shape of the greens, I went from 4 to 3 star. The greens need attention or they're going to end up like Mallard's Landing which is now abysmal!!! People DON'T need to drive right up to the greens and players should be told OVER and OVER to fix their ball marks and divits!!! It's a shame what people do to golf courses, even when they play them regularly. This could be a great golf course if the maintenance of the greens improved and the players were educated to golf common sense.
I like this course
Wide fairways and great condition. Fast greens. Only bad thing was a twosome ahead of us was late and starter held our group of 3 who were there in plenty of time for them.. ok they were 2 snd we were 3 but then the starter added a single last minute with them. Starter should have let us go in the first place instead of making us wait for late golfers. Point to add - we were 1 man, 2 women. Think that went in to starters decision. We are fast players and handicaps in the mid teens.
Fantastic
Great condition, fun layout, nice people. If you're in the area, this is a must-play.
A nice surprise
I caddied for my son here in a U.S. Kids junior event. Loved it, thought it was a really neat track with a good variety of holes.
The greens are big and can be tricky in places, but they roll nicely.
I particularly like the variety of the par 3 holes and overall it's a really good golf experience with a nice, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Favorite course in Brevard county
I live in Brevard county which has about 26 different golf courses and this is the one I like best. It has a great layout with generous fairways but some challenging holes. greens were about a 9 but were smooth. The practice facility is the best in the county. sometimes the pace is a little slow if you get behind various golf leagues but most of the time is good. The restaurant and bar facility is also top of the line with excellent food and fair prices.

I have always loved this course and with 5 courses to choose from within 15 minutes of my home, its been my go too. Fair course with wide fairways, some water and well placed fairway and green side, bunkers. Biggest defense the course has is wind and at times can certainly effect club selection and difficulty of track.
Great layout. That’s it
I’ve always loved this course but extremely disappointed after todays round. It was 90 degrees with only two spots on the course to get water. Vending machines sold out. No cart girl and the restaurant was closed due to an event so no food or drinks at the turn. Worst part was there is no ranger and there was a 6-some in front of us the whole round so pace of play was awful.. Likely lost a group of players that come here 1-2 times a month because of that. Way too hot in Florida for no water coolers on every few holes and having to wait on a group of 6 drunk idiots playing from the tips when they aren’t even good.
Made the hike from Davenport to Viera to play this course. It was a very interesting track. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens rolled slightly slower than I expected. The practice facility was great. The staff (especially the starter) was top notch. I would recommend checking this course out. Bring some extra balls as there is plenty of water throughout the course. Awesome par 3 #7!
Fun when firm and fast
I was pleasantly surprised by Duran when I played it in late March in the Space Coast Amateur, a local tournament. The course doesn't look overly complicated from photos, but the area's drought conditions over the late winter had it playing nice and firm and fast, with everything in good shape. The greens have some interesting contours, with the boldest being the large "Punchbowl" 7th green. I enjoyed architect Chip Powell's choice to echo the CB Macdonald/Seth Raynor template holes with certain features. They elevate Duran above the designation of "just another Florida golf course." Worth playing if you are in the area.
One of the top courses in the county!
I play Duran at least once a month and it always delivers. The course is always in very good condition and the greens are beautiful and true. Large, wide fairways abound but steer it offline and trouble lurks in the form of deep bunkers and watery graves. Easily one of the best courses in the county, if you are from out of the area and visiting the Melbourne area make sure you put Duran on your list of must-plays.
