Viera East Golf Club
About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Greens
Greens in poor shape, full of weeds that made putting impossible. Fairways cut really short that makes it tough to get underneath the ball. Only played nine holes and at ~$40 the track doesn’t warrant the expense. I’m glad I didn’t pay the $83 to play 18!
AVOID AT ALL COST
This place is an absolute JOKE and being over $95 for a goat track is just highway robbery. My first complaint is with the insane residents who think this is their private country club. News flash you old farts, ITS A PUBLIC GOLF COURSE. Nobody cares you live in the neighborhood but thinking they could just roll past us on the FIRST TEE was something I’ve never experienced before. These 4 older men attempted to jump in front of us after we had just teed off. The ensuing conversation with them had me firmly believing this was as hidden camera prank show or something with how clueless these guys were. We were constantly waiting on more slow old people all day long on every single shot. But of course the ignorant course “Marshall” was up our tail saying we need to speed up play even though I had to wait on every single shot because I hit the ball over 100yds with any club in my bag. Food in the restaurant horrible. Cart girl drove by without acknowledging us multiple times. One of the worst times I’ve ever had on a golf course. Pro Shop is terrible literally nothing in it but some bland, boring, basic merch, and they also did nothing to make up for our experience. I would not play here again if you paid me. If you enjoy an awful overpriced experience with a careless staff and rude residents then this the place for you. Course used to be nice but I guess the new pro and GM only care about lining their pockets because it was a dump out there. Bald tee boxes, heavy weeds on the greens. The craziest thing is that Baytree has the best rolling greens around now. I actually went to Baytree after hearing some Viera East employees talking down on the place. These places have flip flopped over the last year. AVOID AVOID AVOID VIERA EAST
It’s Peak Season: Pace of Play severely impacted
This is my favorite course in the Melbourne-area; almost exclusively because the greens are exquisite. Unfortunately, that was not the case when I played the front-9 yesterday. The crab grass (or whatever you call the type of grass that is invasive and grows much faster than what it is primarily seeded with) made the surface look like a guy with a nasty 5-o’clock shadow. I had a 8-footer, slightly downhill right-to-left breaker that should have dropped for birdie but instead, about a foot from the hole, the ball rolled over a tiny mountain and shot about 45-degrees left, missing the cup by six inches. If anything it should have missed on the high-side but it was tracking to slowdown and fall center cup from what I was seeing. Oh well, birdies come and birdies go.
All of this said, it’s still my favorite course in the area. It’s usually has a very well-paced round, the fairways are great, the bunkers are good, and when the greens are cut down; they’re perfect.
Wish it was better
Not worth $80 a round. Dead spots on the tees, fairways and around the greens. Duran is in much better condition for the same price. Disappointed because we heard great things about Viera East.
Horrible
Customer service was terrible! Guy hung up on me when I I was trying to explain to him my issue with a tee time. Christopher is so bad and won’t hear me out and told me have a good day and hung up! Worse app!
Great shape
Course was in great shape. Fairways to the greens were good. Don’t skip out on the food there.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with a nice layout and greens are really good. My only negative is that the carts have no coolers. But definitely still worth playing

Viera East has great drainage considering recent rains. Fairway grass longer than usual and bunkers need additional sand. Great layout, staff, and practice area. Friendly 6 tee box choices is pleasant for all skill levels.
Course was closed
Thursday a heavy rain dumped 4 inches and Friday morning the course decided not to open for play, with standing water everywhere 🙃
Summer rates are too high
The two best courses in central Brevard is Viera East and Duran. I normally lean towards Viera because of their friendliness and improved snack bar which is really more than a stack bar; the hook and eagle tavern.
Solid Quality Course
The staff and Rangers on the golf course were awesome. Even provided some water on this hot day and I highly recommend this golf course!!!!
Quick review Viera East

I play with my friends once or twice per week at different golf courses in the area. I like Viera East the most.
